The ongoing staffing crisis in senior care is a major concern. While efforts are being made to address this issue, there's a risk that the current approach may not be feasible for all facilities. Many nursing homes have been struggling to hire enough staff, which is particularly challenging for rural facilities with limited candidate pools. These facilities could face penalties for not meeting staffing requirements. To tackle this problem effectively, senior care needs to be a more appealing career choice for healthcare professionals. By doing so, more dedicated and compassionate employees are attracted to fill these crucial roles. #SeinorCare #StaffingCrisis https://lnkd.in/gyY9ZNrG

Discover the truth behind nursing home staffing shortages. Nursing homes often claim they can't find anyone to hire. However, with over a 50% nurse turnover rate, the issue is not finding staff but keeping them. Low pay, few benefits, and poor working conditions create a cycle of understaffing. If corporations invested in better pay, benefits, and working conditions, nursing homes could attract and retain quality staff. Highly skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse with a passion for improving healthcare outcomes and patient experience. Equipped with a diverse skill set in clinical operations, revenue cycle management, and health care.
To my fellow healthcare managers, how do you combat constant staff call-offs? Managing in healthcare can be challenging, especially with unreliable staff. Last-minute call-ins not only jeopardize patient safety but also strain coworkers. We focus on attracting and retaining reliable nursing staff and CNAs through competitive salaries, a positive work environment, professional development, efficient communication, and recognizing hard work. While these strategies have been effective, prioritizing them to build a reliable and committed team is becoming increasingly challenging. Are nurses calling in without considering the impact on patient care due to burnout or generational factors? How are you addressing these issues in your organization? Share your strategies! #HealthcareManagement #EmployeeRetention #NursingStaff #TeamCommitment #helpmeunderstand #skillednursing #nursingshortage #CNA #CMT #staffing #healthcare
