Great to be back again serving as emcee at the 17th Annual Hearts of Texas Luncheon, honoring Lifetime Achievement Award recipient, Randy Bowman, Community Partners of Dallas and the Lewisville ISD. Volunteerism transforms lives! Thanks to Volunteer Now CEO, Rachel Currie Triska, for inspiring her incredible team. Americans gave 4.1 billion hours of service to humanity as volunteers last year. There's nothing more impactful than making a difference in the lives of those who need it most. As I share in my keynote address: "Live your life as a go-getter, yet, forever share your life as a go-giver."

This golf tournament is extra special for me—not just because I'm running a youth empowerment non-profit and aiming to empower more teens this year, but also because I'm wearing my mom hat for my oldest son Diego, who's a senior this year😧. Like many teens, he's a great kid but doesn't really know what he wants to do next, and college isn't his path….he’s told me that 20,000 times👌 Whether you're a parent who understands and empathizes with a kid unsure of their future or a company looking for talent and loves golf, I need your support🫶. In the trades, everyone's fighting for talent, and by helping us develop young talent and creating opportunities, you can make a massive impact. Take Josiah, for example. He didn't know what to do after high school, but now, thanks to trade school and support from JLM Air, he's financially independent with his own car and apartment. That's the kind of success story I want for my son and other teens. If you haven't checked out what I've been doing these past five years, now's the time. Whether you want to golf, support our cause, or just see what we're about, join us!! Help me develop future leaders and productive contributors. Let's change the paradigm of what young talent can achieve. I'm focused on building their soft skills and workforce readiness so they become confident, aware, and prepared for their futures. Help me revolutionize youth empowerment and support my own son in the process🤗. Let's make a difference together! https://lnkd.in/gbX-mFVj #YouthEmpowerment #CommunitySupport #Leadership #GolfTournament #FutureLeaders #EmpowerOurYouth #TradesOpportunities #SupportOurTeens #RevolutionizeWorkforce #EmpowerMySon
🤩Meet Josiah, a shining example of the vast potential we aim to unlock at our 4th Annual Charity Golf Tourney 9/27!⛳️🫶 Josiah’s journey is truly inspiring. A little over a year ago, he joined JLM Air Conditioning and Heating, unsure of his path. After serving in the United States Marine Corps, Josiah realized he wasn’t cut out for a desk job. Instead, he pursued trade school at Refrigeration School Inc, where he was introduced to Bill Millbourn, the owner of JLM Air Conditioning and Heating, by a family member. From there, Josiah began servicing customers and quickly found his footing. Today, Josiah has his own place, a car, and a bright future ahead—thanks to the support and opportunities provided by Bill and JLM Air. This is exactly the kind of transformation we want to inspire at our golf tournament. We aim to help teens who like Josiah, might not be college-bound, discover pathways and opportunities in the trades and beyond and learn from leaders who aim to serve. Our golf tournament on Friday, September 27th, at Las Colinas Golf Club, Queen Creek, will feature numerous local trades and industries, all coming together to empower teens and expand their horizons. We want to connect these young individuals with amazing leaders, environments, and teams that can help them develop their talent and mindset. Marines Queen Creek will be there too to help those who might want to take that path first too like Josiah! A huge shoutout to Bill of JLM Air for his leadership and to all the other companies joining us this year. Together, we can make a bigger difference in the community. Let’s shine a light on these awesome teens and give them the chance to figure out what comes next. Who wouldn’t want to come to a golf tournament as a kid? It’s a fantastic field trip! And as an employer, you get to enjoy a great day of golf or set up shop at a tee box, engaging with t tee he golfers coming out and teens all day. Let’s revolutionize youth empowerment and swing for the future! Join us on September 27th to drive change in a meaningful way. 🏌️♂️🏌️♀️ https://lnkd.in/gtNCKtvV #YouthEmpowerment #CommunitySupport #Leadership #GolfTournament #HVAC #JLMAir #LasColinas #QueenCreek #SwingForTheFuture #MakeADifference #TradeOpportunities #TeenSuccess #RevolutionizeEmpowerment

This Sunday is St Patrick's Day, a day that commemorates the death of Saint Patrick, the foremost patron saint of Ireland. It is truly a day for celebrating Irish culture and heritage 💚 At EA, we are no strangers to celebrating different cultures and will always jump at an opportunity to learn something new. For example, did you know that Saint Patrick wasn't actually Irish? He was actually born in Roman Britain, which is now believed to be somewhere in modern day Scotland or Wales! Find that interesting? Here are our top tips for learning about traditions from other cultures: 🧑🎓 Do Your Own Research: - Try to learn about traditions from another culture using sources like articles, documentaries, and even social media! Understanding the context behind cultural practices will enhance your appreciation and enjoyment of them should you ever get to experience them in person! 👋 Talk to a Local: - Engaging with someone that honours a celebration or tradition as part of their culture will always offer valuable insight! Interacting with locals in this way will not only provide a firsthand explanation of traditions, but also help you to foster connections all over the world! 🧡 Show Respect and Keep an Open Mind: - Acknowledging and respecting differences is so important when learning something new about traditions from another culture. Showing that you are open to learning, and making sure you are being sensitive when asking questions will lead to positive interactions, and, more importantly, will help you to better understand traditions from other cultures! #teamendeavours #eacommunity #culture #team #adventureawaits #charity #stpatricksday

Simone Biles, the most decorated gymnast of all time, is dazzling once again at the Paris Olympics. She is one of 120 trailblazers in my book "Make Your Own History" ("MYOH") -- https://lnkd.in/emee5qBN Here's one of Biles' success principles from the book: INSIST ON YOUR BEST "A successful competition for me is always going out there and putting 100 percent into whatever I'm doing. It's not always winning. People, I think, mistake that it's just winning. Sometimes it could be, but for me, it's hitting the best sets I can, gaining confidence, and having a good time and having fun." Whatever you’re working on at your school, your job, your hobby, your charity . . . commit yourself to be the best. Excellence doesn’t happen all at once. It’s about getting better one day at a time: Consistent little steps go a long way towards reaching your goal. Learn more from Biles and other history-makers in MYOH.

Black History Month is here, and the Guelph Black Heritage Society and The Kween Company will end the month with Black Vacation Week - a time for rest and connection. "Recognizing the depth of planning events, hosting and the amount of work that is done over BHM, it is often that Black people do not get the time off or time needed to connect with their community," reads a post from The Kween Company last February. I would love to know if other organizations, especially nonprofits, have adopted this initiative. Reach out if so for a possible Future of Good story. As a coach and a teacher, I love honoring athletes and students. In honoring Greg Boyle, I was reminded that getting awards "right" buoys our spirits; it's strengthens our society. It is good to collectively celebrate and honor a person. However, I have certainly gotten it wrong, too. Here are a few points of consideration for why it's worth doing what you can to get it right. #clutch #HomeboyIndustries https://lnkd.in/gQgtzkEX
