Challenging the notion of incinerators as a viable solution, it is crucial to emphasize that waste-to-energy facilities, despite potential advancements, inherently perpetuate a linear model of resource consumption and production. The focus should shift towards circular economy principles, where waste is minimized, and resources are continually reused and recycled. The economic investments in incineration facilities might be substantial, but this should not deter the imperative to redirect funding toward developing and implementing more sustainable and innovative waste management technologies. The environmental and health risks associated with incinerators, even with advanced technologies, remain significant, underscoring the urgency for a complete transition to cleaner alternatives. In light of the pressing global climate crisis, endorsing a paradigm shift away from incineration and prioritizing a holistic circular economy approach aligns more coherently with the imperative for ecological preservation and long-term sustainability! Carbon Footprint measures the impact that our activities have on the environment, especially when it comes climate change. As humans, we need to do as much as we can to reduce our carbon footprint, such as reducing energy use. By reducing energy use, we lower greenhouse gas emissions, we can pave the way for a more sustainable and resilient future. Implementing various measures such as optimizing energy efficiency in buildings, adopting renewable energy sources, and promoting sustainable transportation options can help. We need to make every drop count, such as installing water-efficient fixtures, and utilizing rainwater harvesting systems, we can significantly reduce our environmental impact. Disposable packaging needs to be eliminated, as litter free lunchboxes cut down on waste and reduce the demand for single-use plastics, which are major contributors to carbon emissions. By diverting waste from landfills and repurposing it into new products, recycling reduces the energy consumption required for manufacturing processes. Further, recycling within communities encourages responsible consumption patterns and fosters a culture of environmental stewardship. #SDBbank #Sustainability #Finance #srilanka #success #lifesuccess

🌿🚯 Dispelling myths 🔍 One of the biggest misconceptions surrounding Waste-to-Energy (WTE) facilities is the notion that they exacerbate the waste problem, perpetuating unsustainable practices under the guise of environmental stewardship. However, the reality is far more nuanced. 🔄 In truth, the narrative surrounding WTE facilities often overlooks the complexities of waste management and the need for pragmatic solutions. While achieving zero-waste production may seem idealistic, it's simply unattainable in a world driven by consumption and demand. 🌐 At SET Europe, we understand the complexities of waste management and the imperative of finding real solutions. Our team of professionals has developed a groundbreaking sandwich gasification technology that addresses the challenges of waste disposal head-on, offering a sustainable alternative to traditional methods. At Glanway we view residual waste as a challenging but a potentially valuable resource. If processed innovatively targeting specific recyclables for removal and creating specific fuels for the Waste-to Energy industry with the remainder, we can help bring us all on a path to a more sustainable future. While in the process creating a circular economy for waste and reducing Greenhouse Gas Emissions. #future #sustainable #circulareconomy #wastemanagement

Ever wonder what happens your black bin/residual household waste? In Ireland since 2010 there are really only 2 options Landfill or Incineration for your black bin/residual household waste. However Glanway now offer a 3rd which is to process black bin/residual household waste to extract the recyclable plastics and metals. Which not only increases Irelands recycling rate it reduces CO2 emissions as it removes plastic from the waste prior to it going to European Waste to Energy facilities, whom recover all the heat and electricity from this low carbon fuel. While in the process creating sustainable Irish jobs in the Circular Economy. A win-win-win!!!
