𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐝𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐢𝐧 “𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤”? At the Design Offices Munich, Accenture, Design Offices, Haufe Group and Vitra gave us the great opportunity to discuss #newwork. 👉 How do we use #space at work? How can we continuously adapt space to the needs of the company, employees & what work requires. Not one concept fits all. 👉 What is the role of #leadership to bridge work & space (thanks to Joachim Gripp for the comment). 👉 I think leadership is still necessary, its more about the role of a leader. When is a moderator, a coordinator, or a coach helpful? What does a fulfilled life look like to you? At the start of this optimistic October, these are the three things I look forward to: 🍁 Autumn! The view of the leaves turning yellow, red and brown…. it’s a beautiful season of renewal. 🍁 Visiting the Dutch Design Week in Eindhoven later this month. Accompanying my eldest son, who is interested to explore the world of industrial design. 🍁 Prep work with some dear colleagues, for a couple of leadership sessions in November. I love how this work continues to inspire me. This cohort: 35+ executive leaders engaged in meaningful dialogue about the critical moments during which we must show up—consciously, compassionately, and courageously—to drive equitable outcomes and create inclusive workplace environments. Each of The Waymakers Change Group Change Experiences is unique because the people in it are unique, as are their perspectives and challenges. The magic isn’t in the theory. It’s in the stories. The examples. The framing. The tools. The application. The practice. The intentionality. The commitment. I used to think I wanted to make our work automated…repeatable. I wondered how I might turn what we’ve created into technology that could scale fast and far. But the deep understanding and navigation of human motivation and behavior are what set us apart. I remember that day vividly. Stepping into the boardroom, I felt the weight of anticipation. As I extended my hand.... I sensed discomfort as eyes lingered on my tattoos. I was acutely aware of the corporate environment, particularly at the onset of my HR career, when a VP advised me to conceal my tattoos. This subtle expectation reflected the traditional norms of leadership. While progress has been made in shaping workplace culture and policies... For years, I navigated around this expectation, concealing a part of myself to conform to corporate standards. Yet, I recognized that genuine leadership transcends conformity; it's rooted in authenticity. That's why I'm passionate about helping senior leaders and teams embrace their unique identities and strengths. Because when we embrace who we are fully, tattoos and all, we unlock our true potential for success. When you lead with vulnerability and courage, you cultivate a safe and supportive environment that inspires others to show up authentically. This leads to a more inclusive and impactful community.
