🌟 Team Magic in the Making 🌟 Imagine Hannibal Barca leading your Monday morning team huddle. Yes, that Hannibal – the elephant guy, not the one from the movies. That man could teach us a thing or two about team bonding, making it not just a buzzword but your team's actual superpower! 🐘✨ But why? Where does the magic come from? Well; 🔸 Ideas flow better in a band – Ever noticed how brainstorming feels less like storming and more like a light bulb festival when everyone's vibing together? 💡 🔸 High-fives feel nicer than handshakes – Teams that bond see challenges as team achievements waiting to happen. Plus, who doesn't love high-five? 🙌🏼 🔸 A team that laughs together, lasts – Morale isn't just about smiles; it's the fuel that keeps the engine running smoothly. And a little laughter goes a long way in keeping that tank full. 😄 Now, back to our ancient playbook. Hannibal didn't just wake up one day and decide to cross the Alps because it sounded fun. He had a vision, and more importantly, he had a team that believed in it as much as he did. How did he do it? ➕ Embracing diversity – Hannibal's army was the ultimate mixtape of cultures, each with its own hit tracks. He showed us the power of embracing diversity and playing to each other's strengths.  ➕ Shared adventures create epic stories – Crossing the Alps was their team-building retreat. It was bold, risky, and it bonded them for life. 🏔️ ➕ Vision is contagious – Hannibal shared a vision so compelling that his team was willing to follow him to the ends of the earth... or at least Italy. 🌟 Just wrapped up a workshop centred on enhancing team dynamics. This time, we took a slightly unconventional route by delving into the Five Toltec Agreements and their application within professional settings as a collaboration contract. 🔑 The Five Agreements 1️⃣ Let your word be impeccable. 2️⃣ Whatever happens, don’t make it personal. 3️⃣ Never make assumptions. 4️⃣ Always do your best. 5️⃣ Be skeptical, but learn to listen. Applying these agreements within a team setting can radically transform how we interact. They foster personal accountability, build trust, and cultivate a culture of respectful and open communication. You have to create moments to create memories. Every year I organize a small group of close friends on a 4 day trip somewhere new and all you have to do is “participate”. Which is VERY different than just showing up. You cannot build a partnership without a relationship. Dinners, outings, events are all good but when you spend a weekend with someone, you truly get to know them and if you want to keep getting to know them. If you’re working on something big, don’t just create team building exercises and flash in the pan dinners. Sure they’re great for a few good laughs and building report. If you really wanna create a culture and a group that will go to war together, friends or colleagues, lock em up in one location for a few days and see who you really want to survive.
