Clearly, this headline is old news: We've all been invited to offsites during the last year or so. BUT - at times, we've noticed, these hives of potential goodness feel like they are a bit clunky - it's like the skills of running them got a bit rusty. Our work in sales kick-offs, annual leadership prioritization exercises, and future-proofing strategies still inspires teams to get aligned, build mindsets, and strengthen capabilities to own their future. That's important. What is also important is to design the architecture to accelerate results - NOT to be the noticeable friction that slows teaming down. As leaders, I want to encourage you to lean into the event-building process. This is not necessarily a delegation moment. Leaders need to lean in to help. They need to get “plugged” into the planning to help create the most impactful large- and small-scale events.
