🚀 Four months ago, I embarked on a transformative journey: a startup workshop in Paris that not only deepened my understanding of entrepreneurship but also sparked a flame of innovation within me. 🚀 Turning Dreams into Reality: My Entrepreneurial Adventure About six months ago, I found myself in a bit of a dilemma after finishing university. I was searching for opportunities to earn money passively, exploring job options, and considering volunteering, but nothing felt quite right. That's when I received a message on LinkedIn that changed everything. The message invited me to apply for a program that combined a master's degree with a startup accelerator. It involved spending three months in Washington and five in Genoa. It seemed like the perfect fit for me. I've always wanted to start my own business and be my own boss. Plus, I could improve my English and Italian along the way. When I was accepted into the program, I shared the news with my parents, who have always supported me. We began planning the trip, sorting out visas, accommodation, and everything else needed. Looking back, I'm so glad I took the risk and seized this opportunity without hesitation, and that's an incredibly valuable lesson: taking risks opens doors to opportunities that foster personal growth while also providing enjoyment along the way. Since joining the program, I've connected with inspiring entrepreneurs and mentors, gaining invaluable insights into startup creation and management. Their guidance and the support of my passionate classmates have fueled my aspirations and helped me navigate challenges effectively. Don't misunderstand me, it's been a challenging journey, but every challenge has been worth it. Now, I feel equipped to turn any idea into a reality efficiently. It seems like I've been on this journey for a long time, but it's only just begun, and I'm confident that with my amazing team, we'll achieve something great. I was a judge in the mini Shark Tank. Few days ago I judged an event at VGU. It was like "Shark Tank," but for college students. So… Around 20 student-run startups pitched their ideas. And I was impressed by their passion and creativity. We evaluated each pitch based on various criteria to select the top contenders. There was even a cash prize to help them get started. In addition to judging, I had the opportunity to speak to the students and offer some motivational words. It was incredibly rewarding to interact with them afterwards. Many students approached me for guidance. And I even shared my contact information with about 10-12 of them who requested help with specific challenges like calculating customer acquisition costs. Here's the cool part: One of the most interesting pitches came from a travel startup - a direct competitor to BanBanjara! I found it refreshing to interact with them and see their perspective. I've even invited two startups, including the travel one, to visit my office for further discussions. I've participated in similar events before. But this is the first time I'm seriously thinking about investing my own money in student businesses. Normally, I'm a little careful about this. But these students were so passionate and had so much potential. It got me excited! This whole experience was awesome! It's inspiring to see young people with such great ideas. Recently, I had the privilege of sharing my 20-year journey in the greentech space with the spirited students of Mr. Mike Russo's Small Business Entrepreneurship program at the ROC. From pursuing over five internships to founding my ventures and evolving into a content creator and community builder, my path has been fueled by curiosity, innovation, and a relentless pursuit of opportunities. The passion and curiosity I witnessed in these students were heartwarming. Our discussions revealed amazing parallels between my experiences and the class's mission, underscoring that entrepreneurship is not just about business—it's about embracing your inner child's spirit of exploration and adaptability. A poignant question about navigating tough times reminded me of the importance of remembering our 'why'. For me, it's about honoring the memory of my brother Larry and Dr. Shuli Goodman, early supporters in my greentech journey. Their memory is a beacon during challenging times, reminding me why I embarked on this path.
