🌟 Teamwork makes the dream work! 🌟 We are excited to be hosting a booth at NACCHO 360 for the week. Despite some unexpected challenges, our team came together to make it happen! Huge shout out to our team members, Cara Lane and Ciera Tyler, for helping pull this together despite not being able to make it here in person today. Due to the recent mass tech outage, Cara’s flights kept getting canceled and she couldn’t get the booth materials to NACCHO. But we didn’t let that stop us! We problem-solved and rallied as a team, heading to FedEx to overnight the booth materials to Craig’s hotel. Thanks to everyone's efforts, Craig A. Isaak made it to NACCHO 360 on time, booth materials in hand! In life and business, unforeseen circumstances happen. Shift your focus from the negative and concentrate on how you respond, what you can learn, and how you can show up strong for your team. How to get #tradeshow attendees into your booth: (When you DON’T have pre-set appointments or “lures” a.k.a. raffle prizes and contests to rely on.) Some creative tactics I learned while manning the KODA booth at #NHS2024: ➡️ Walk the perimeter of the booth, rather than stand inside the booth. Makes you more approachable, and easier to “bump” into. ➡️ As an opening line: Ask their opinions on products you have on display. This was a great ice-breaker for me, and helped us crowd-source the viability of new products. ➡️ Don’t stand behind a table (or too far inside your booth). Puts too much distance between you. ➡️ Another great opening line: “Hey, are you looking for the [Your Brand Name] booth? It’s right over here.” This was a surprisingly effective pattern-break question that put people at ease, and got a handful to stop and look at our wares. ➡️ Be transparent. If you have “new” products on display that are very conceptual, tell people you’re ‘testing some ideas’, and ask for the attendees opinion on your proposed solution.

Innovation isn't always about inventing something entirely new. Sometimes, it's about taking a fresh look at existing challenges and applying solutions from unexpected places. Have you ever read an exhibitor's manual and thought, 'There has to be an easier way?' Yeah, me too. To me, the first step in great service is providing customers with the information they need. As everyday consumers, we're used to solving problems on our own because the information is readily accessible and convenient. Why shouldn't exhibiting be the same? The idea behind this series sort of came with an 'aha' moment as a customer from Rent The Runway. I was watching a video on the return process and was like, 'Wow, I now have all the information I need.' Then it hit me - if I can learn how to return a shipment, make a new fancy meal, learn a new skill, or assemble a complicated piece of IKEA furniture from a quick video, why can't exhibiting be that simple? That's why I'm excited about our new Exhibitor Education Video Series. It's bringing that same user-friendly approach we enjoy in our daily lives to the world of trade shows. We're not reinventing the wheel, but hopefully making it spin a little smoother. Because in today's world where we can learn anything from a quick video, understanding the complexities of exhibiting should be just as straightforward. At Shepard , we see this as a natural progression in our commitment to top-tier service. Personal support remains at our core, but we're expanding our toolkit. By introducing new digital resources alongside our hands-on expertise, we're building a more comprehensive system that gives exhibitors the flexibility to access support in ways that work best for them.
The events services company Shepard launched an Exhibitor Education Video Series, created to support exhibitors through the entire event life cycle. According to Shepard, this on-demand video library is the first of its kind. It was developed collaboratively by Shepard’s cross-functional marketing and exhibitor service teams, covers a range of topics, such as labor rules and regulations, booth budgeting and more, and includes modern customer service practices. “Our goal is to provide exhibitors with the clarity and guidance they need to be successful. This video series demonstrates Shepard’s commitment to leading that charge and setting a new standard for exhibitor support,” Taylor Gray Elliot, Vice President of Marketing & Brand Strategy at Shepard said. Tradeshow Teamwork: 🦋Been rehearsing set up and break down in my driveway pre-show🤌 and overall preparing for scenarios that could occur. 🚀For a fully successful tradeshow though, you need to count on teammates rolling up their sleeves & stepping up into unfamiliar roles with a good attitude. ✨With a volunteer sign-up sheet for team members to take shifts -- you factor that some will bow out or not make it. EVERY. SINGLE. TEAMMATE from Bothwell Engineering Inc. showed up, asked what was expected, engaged, and collected emails from visitors. This can be uncomfortable and overstimulating.
