Pricing increases suck, so I compiled a document with some tips to help communicating them suck less. Before diving into the document, here is some quick advice to help with your pricing communication: Remember, no matter what you do, some customers will be unhappy with a pricing increase. The larger your company, the more likely a price increase is to be scrutinized. How can a product marketer help communicate a pricing increase? A PMM should work closely with the content, UX, lifecycle, sales, customer success, and product teams when a price increase is unavoidable. Here's how a PMM can collaborate effectively: Content: Develop clear, concise messaging for each customer segment. UX: Conduct testing and focus groups to understand customer reception. Lifecycle: Ensure the team has the necessary assets and collaborate on segmentation. Sales and Customer Success: Equip them to handle customer inquiries and gather insights on valued features.
