🍭 Taking a moment to reflect on the joy and resilience of #Pride Month 🌈 and our inaugural Mamba booth at #PrideFest in Chicago. It was an incredible opportunity to be a part of a month that celebrates the history, culture, and contributions of individuals who identify as LGBTQIA+ and allies. Thanks to Anthony Pilolli for leading our efforts to participate and having the *best* booth thanks to Michael Phillips and our amazing employee volunteers! Here's to many more years of bringing the 'chill and recharge' to Pride Fest and supporting this incredible community #smallmomentsofjoy #chillandrecharge #storck #storckchicago #pridefest #passion #performance #senseofbelonging

🌈 Celebrating a Week of our diverse Motherfunners! 🌈 So far this week to mark #IDAHOBIT on May 17, we’ve been profiling our amazing LGBTQIA+ Motherfunners and sharing their stories and embracing their uniqueness. Today meet Troy Dunford, the Venue Manager of one of our oldest and most beloved venues, Strike Frankston! Q. Why – in your opinion – are days against discrimination like IDAHOBIT still important? A. As much as we have progressed as a society to be more inclusive and accepting of all people, there are still those out there who are uninformed or misinformed about the LGBTQIA+ community and don't understand or see the struggles we go through in day to day life. Q. Can you tell us about an instance when someone was an effective ally to you, and how it made you feel? A. The biggest instances for me when someone has been an ally is when I tell them I am part of the LGBTQIA+ community and they say something as simple as "that's cool", because they are just accepting of me as a person rather than making a fuss. Q. Tell us about your experience as a member of the LGBTQIA+ community at Funlab ? A. I've been with Funlab for a short time so far, but the pronoun badges, Rainbow Tick accreditation, gender affirmation leave and so much more made it feel inclusive and safe from the day I joined! Q. What is your top tip for someone just starting out in their LGBTQIA+ allyship or inclusion journey? A. Recently I had someone concerned because they wanted to support the LGBTQIA+ community by simply wearing a pronoun badge and an ally pin but were scared of what people might say to them. I explained that this is how LGBTQIA+ people feel most days without ever wearing those badges, so showing that small act of solidarity goes a long way for the community!

Every June, cities around the world are awash in vibrant rainbows as the LGBTQ+ community and allies celebrate Pride Month. This celebration is often associated with coming out, a pivotal moment for many LGBTQ+ individuals. However, Pride Month is about much more than that. It is a powerful affirmation of pride in oneself, a celebration of self-acceptance, and a call to embrace our authentic identities. Coming out is undoubtedly significant; it marks a personal and often transformative journey. Yet, Pride Month extends beyond this singular act. It is about recognizing and honoring the ongoing process of self-acceptance. For many, embracing their identity is a lifelong journey that involves overcoming societal prejudices, internalized stigma, and personal struggles. Pride Month celebrates the courage it takes to live authentically every day. Moreover, Pride is about visibility and representation. It serves as a reminder that LGBTQ+ individuals exist in all walks of life and deserve to be seen, heard, and respected. This visibility is crucial in fostering a sense of belonging and community, especially for those who might feel isolated or marginalized as I did growing up and even through my young adulthood. I felt I was worth less than the folks who were “normal”. At its core, Pride is about love and self-respect. It’s a declaration that everyone deserves to love and be loved, free from fear and discrimination. It's about acknowledging the worth and dignity of every individual, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity. In essence, Pride Month is a celebration of the entire journey of self-acceptance. It’s about coming out, yes, but it's also about what comes after—living openly, authentically, and proudly. It’s a time to embrace who we are and to support others in their journeys toward self-acceptance. Pride is not just an event; it's a powerful affirmation of identity, community, and love…FOR EVERYONE. I’m proud to be a part of an organization who celebrates this month with our community!

Being an ally to the LGBTQIA+ community isn't just a label - it's an action. It's a choice to show up, support, and uplift. Here are some ways you can put allyship into practice: - Walk with us in a parade or protest - Shop at LGBTQIA+ owned businesses - Read educational materials to learn more about the community - Uplift others by giving them a boost, holding them up, or being a supportive voice Remember, allyship is a verb - it requires action and dedication. By taking these steps, you can help create a more inclusive and accepting world for everyone. If you're looking for a workplace that values diversity and inclusion, consider joining our team! It is Pride month again! One thing I learnt this year was that the Q in LGBTQIA+ could as well be Questioning for an Ally. The journey from a bystander to an ally is not an Immediate transition. There are questions, debates, self doubt and survival instincts that kick in especially when it is time to take a stand or voice an opinion. Standing up for someone else is not easy! It takes practice. You may be at one of these many places: 1. From the LGBTQIA+ community dreading what this month is going to bring in the name of allyship 2. An active ally, walking on a thin line between fake pandering corporates and the real deal 3. A seasonal Ally who remembers having pledged to do more than add a rainbow to your display pic every Pride month 4. A new Ally, highly inspired to start a new journey. 5. A bystander wondering what the fuss is all about Wherever you are, you have my empathy. Because everyone is trying! Take one empathetic action this month that moves you closer to being an Active Ally and closer to creating an inclusive environment! Chandra Duraiswamy thanks for getting the ball rolling! #ArchesInTheRainbow

It's time we began pushing boundaries to build an environment that's more accepting and loving. An environment where inclusivity feels natural, and isn't looked at as a privilege. It's time we started looking beyond these boundaries to spark conversations, which in turn create real-world impact. Cos closets are for clothes, not for identities. Couldn't have gone through this rollercoaster of a project without the help of the beautiful humans at Leo Burnett and IKEA. Team Leo Burnett: Rajeev Rakshit Bhawana C. Keerthi Kumar.R Anahita Brar Ananya Samantaray PRAVIN SUTAR Sandeep V Maudgal Iyer jamuna poovaiah Sanjeev Tripathi Niharika Mishra Natasha Khubchandani Sarjit Talwar Akhil Malshet Team IKEA: Kasturi Lal Abhishek Dutta Abhishek Jotwani Jayendra Gupta Chandan M Punita Dialani
This Pride Month, let the silence in the closet spark a conversation. Biases, often unspoken, can create invisible walls that isolate the LGBTQIA+ community. Let's listen, learn, and build bridges of understanding. Because closets are for clothes, not for identities. #PrideMonth #IKEA

🗓️ June is one of my favourite months of the year 6️⃣ 🌈 While I read posts celebrating Pride Month, I realize is also the 13th anniversary of the Ruggie’s “Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights. “🔖 The intersection of both occasions is clear: business have a vital role towards the inclusion of LGBTQIA+ people. And businesses are built by the people! As I reflect on my journey towards an LGBTQIA+ ally, here are some steps I have taken: ➡️ I took time to educate myself on language use or historical events such as the Stonewall riots. ➡️ I tried to ask and listen before stating. Because only members of the community can say what feels right - or wrong. ➡️ I worked to challenge and unlearn the biases ingrained in my upbringing. ➡️ I started to speak out against exclusive statements or microagressions. Today beyond my corporate role, I continue on my learning journey. 🏳️🌈🏳️🌈Because the basics are in the Human Rights Declaration: all human beings are equal. #pridemonth #humanrights
