🏫 While officially established in 2002, the Defence Academy of the United Kingdom stems from an incredible history of military education. Its oldest constituent unit, The Military Society, was founded in 1772 for the study of ballistics and explosives. 🤝 From these beginnings, the education the Defence Academy now offers our forces has evolved into an institution offering an array of expertise, built on collaboration between the UK and partner nations. 🌍 The Academy has a history of building bridges between cultures and disciplines, uniting military minds from around the world to develop the skills and knowledge needed for a rapidly changing security landscape, ensuring we sharpen Defence’s edge to face the threats of today and tomorrow.

🇫🇰Did you know that the Falkland Islands holds one of the largest stores of peatland carbon across any UK territory? British Forces South Atlantic Islands (BFSAI) are working together with the Falklands Conservation organisation and the SAERI : South Atlantic Environmental Research Institute on a year-long project to study greenhouse gas exchange in Mount Pleasant Complex. 📊The data from this project will be used to inform BFSAI’s carbon net-zero transition programme.

🌐 Defence Digital keeps us connected – from laptops and phones, to warships and satellites. 🔐 Blocking approximately 6.7 million firewall requests per day, the experts at Defence Digital make sure we are protected from cyber threats. The Global Operations Security Control Centre (GOSCC), based at UK Ministry of Defence Corsham, is at the heart of this mission.
