"After dark, revelations and revolutions happen..." This is a brilliant piece, perfectly outlining the importance of #music, and in particular dance floors, on shaping #culture, forming #communities, and promoting freedoms. I'm hopeful that with every club or venue that closes its doors, other ones will spring up, driven by our human need for expression, identity and community. In this article, I explore the exponential growth in black-owned music, film, fashion and sports businesses, following the 1989 arrival of Hiphop on the Grammy stage. Using it as a case study for what the future might hold for Global brands and Afrobeats-affiliated businesses following the arrival of African music on the Grammy stage. This is great event for Rivian! However here is the problem with this exciting new brand that is hemorrhaging cash. Minimal share of mind in the U.S. and almost non-existent in Canada. No visible leadership north of the border and very little press. Canada should not be an afterthought, hoping to sell a few cars "up there". Commit or get out. One "studio" in Canada, on the West Coast....a five hour flight from Toronto, further from the East Coast. What's the retail distribution plan Rivian? 100% online, no test drives, service centers locations, opportunity to physically see the vehicle? There are viable, pragmatic solutions but we've heard NOTHING.
