From an Trauma Informed perspective: Our capitalistic society is traumitizing. Because it is shaming and there is no space for being and developing who you really are, authenticity. That’s what trauma is; a wound to your self identity; shame and devaluation of self. So we go through life trying to keep afloat. Using substances, addictive behavior, over-controling by analysing etc etc. That is hard work and makes you more anxious, bit you don’t know how to handle the emotions any other way. That is a progressive process while you age and get more and more adult responsibilities.
