According to an ICIS PET report (2022), over 70% of consumed RPET was used for bottle and tray packaging applications in the European market. RPET end-uses: ♻ 48% in bottles ♻ 25% in trays ♻ 15% in fibers ♻ 6% in strapping ♻ 6% in others The recycled content rate must increase across all applications to meet the growing demand for RPET and achieve EU recycling targets. However, the availability of RPET is currently limited. Harmonizing collection systems and improving recycling rates are essential steps to ensure a sufficient RPET feedstock supply. Reach out to learn how you can ensure the recyclability of and increase the RPET content in your PET application: https://lnkd.in/eShKp5GB Source: https://lnkd.in/dPt3hwtZ #RPET #Recycling #Collection #PETbottles #PETtrays

Last week we visited several major recyclers to study the washing processes of PET and HDPE recycling. What we see really opened up our eyes. A washing line for food grade rPET flake production could be 180 meters long, and is very different from those of producing general polyester stable fibre, the largest application market for PET recycling still. Besides, the washing line for HDPE recycling has their own special setup, which is different from those of PET recycling. The insights we get from this trip will help us provide more first-hand information to DfR stakeholders and packaging producers. #recycling #plasticrecycling #DfR #packagingdesigner #petbottle

RPET is a common packaging material. 📦 But what exactly is RPET? RPET stands for Recycled Polyethylene Terephthalate (RPET). Put simply, it’s a plastic made from repurposed waste PET from businesses and consumers. 🥤 It’s also the most commonly used material by manufacturers to help improve sustainability. RPET is easy to mould and shape: it can be used to make trays, containers, thin sheet packaging and bottles. It has low production costs. The end product is lightweight, reducing transportation costs and carbon emissions. 🚛 Find out more about the benefits of RPET for packaging on our Useful Resources page: 🔗 link in comments! #RPET #RPETPackaging #SustainablePackaging #Recycled

📢 PET PRODUCTION AND DEMAND: “In 2022, polyethylene terephthalate (PET) converter demand for applications such as bottles, films and sheet in the EU27+3 region stood at 5.0 million tonnes. PET production (including virgin and recycled) reached 3.9 million tonnes in the same year. The difference between PET demand and production had to be met with imports, as covered in the subsequent sections.” - ICIS report says. 📢 Key learnings: ✅ Increased demand for PET, but less local production ✅ Imports compensating the gap by vPET and rPET ✅ The import trends has been confirmed since 2022, challenging EU production competitiveness To learn more, follow the link ➡️ https://bit.ly/3yuyyEX #PETRecycling #PETPackaging #PETRecyclingInEurope #CircularEconomy #RecycledPET #DesignForRecycling #PETCollection #CircularPET #Sustainability #FullCircularity #PetPlastic

The SCPG dispenser pump (Soap Coster Pump Green) is designed with a polypropylene stem and ball, making it recyclable*. SCPG is the sustainable evolution of Coster long-running SCP, already available with the closure moulded in PCR resin. Its new configuration eliminates POM components from the pump, where POM represents an inseparable contaminant into the PET recycling stream, and equips stem and ball made of PP. What Is PET? Polyethylene terephthalate plastic (PET) is a type of plastic resin that is highly flexible, colorless and semi-crystalline. Depending on how the PET is to be used, it is either semi-rigid or rigid. PET plastic is prized by beverage and food companies because it can be used to make lightweight bottles and containers in a myriad of shapes, with excellent clarity and product protection. PET is pretty much the standard packaging material for the beverage industry. #rpetflakes #rpetrecycling #rpet #sustainability #recycle #flakes #petsheets #recycling #sustainabilitypackaging

Why might customers choose a Georganics toothpaste? First of all they use calcium fluoride (NOT sodium fluoride which is found in regular toothpaste) as it is completely non-toxic and helps remineralise enamel. Second of all, the packaging is completely plastic-free as the jar containing the product is glass and the lid keeping the toothpaste safe and protected is metal, making the packaging reusable and recyclable. Third, they come in three options of Activated Charcoal, Orange and Peppermint. Happy Plastic Free July everyone! 🌿 #Georganics #NaturalDentalCare #Fluoride #ecofriendlypackaging #sustainablepackaging #plasticfreepackaging #crueltyfree #zerowastepackaging #recycle #reuse #gogreen #oralcare #metalpackaging #metalpack #sustainableliving
