The Real-World Testing Program tested a 2022 Hyundai Staria with a 2.2l, 4 cylinder turbo diesel engine. ⛽ In real-world tests, per kilometre the Staria used 1% more fuel than the mandated lab test and emitted the same CO₂ emissions. ⛅ The vehicle was tested in Geelong surrounds, Victoria, between 1-6 December 2023, in damp and dry conditions, with winds of 18, 7 & 15 km/h and temperatures of 16, 24 & 21°C. 💨 During real-world tests, diesel particulate filter (DPF) regeneration was observed and an additional test was conducted as a result. Afton to present on reducing emissions at this year’s Lube Expo Europe (17-19 September in Dusseldorf, Germany) Alan Henderson, Marketing Manager for Heavy Duty Engine Oils in EMEAI, will be part of a panel covering Enabling Technologies for Reducing Scope 1 Emissions in Heavy Duty and Off-road Applications on Tuesday 17 September at 3.30pm. The reduction of scope 1 carbon emissions is high on the agenda for many sectors traditionally powered by diesel generators and ICE engines. The European Commission is currently reviewing a proposal to decrease CO2 emissions per km from new HDV by 90% by 2040, as compared to the reference period (1 July 2019 – 30 June 2020), with intermediate targets for 2030 (45%) and 2035 (65%). In addition, Heavy Duty and Off-road Tier 1s and OEMs are looking at electrification to further reduce their scope 1 emissions. 📣 Ordering frenzy not over yet despite massive capacity influx 🛳️ In the past seven days, another fifteen container vessels with a combined capacity of 80,500 teu have been delivered. This brings the total newbuild capacity added to the fleet so far this year to 246 ships representing almost 1.6 Mteu. 📈 Despite the fact that deliveries in 2023, 2024 and 2025 are 2-3 times higher than the historical average, and despite very high newbuilding prices, the ordering frenzy is not over yet. This year to date another 64 units container vessel been ordered, which will increase the fleet by a further 543,500 teu. ℹ️ Interestingly, carriers have stopped ordering Megamax vessels. The largest ships ordered this year are four compact Neo-panamax 14,170 teu units by the German non-operating owner Peter Döhle Schiffahrt, which are expected to be operated by Dubai-based Emirates Shipping Line (ESL). ♻️ Another thing to note - just half of the ships ordered this year (30 units) are equipped with dual fuel engines, of which 24 have methanol propulsion and six LNG propulsion. ✅ Subscribe to Alphaliner Weekly Newsletter https://okt.to/4TxHQi

Some people 👨🦰👩🦱will probably say it's kerosene, and they won't lie. Jet fuel is created on the basis of kerosene, its composition is very close to diesel.😉 The only producer of jet engine fuel JET A-1 in Lithuania 🇱🇹is AB ORLEN Lietuva. Since 2022, when the war in Ukraine and the embargo ⛔️🇷🇺of Russian products started, AB ORLEN Lietuva is the only supplier of JET A-1, 100 percent satisfying the demand of this product in the country.✅ The product is subject to the extremely strict ‼️quality requirements. Particular focus in the quality standards is given to determination of fuel corrosion activity and water 🚰content in the fuel. Furthermore, it is important to note that Jet fuel probably is the only product 👌which is subject to setting of the quality requirements before introduction of any additives. Special antistatic additives help reducing the accumulation of static charge during the loading to minimum. Determination and limitation of water content in Jet fuel is also of major importance. Water content is determined following several different methods, while the additives which remove the water dissolved in petroleum products are introduced directly before jet fuelling. It is interesting that jet fuel has additives that allow airplanes work efficiently - it does not freeze ❄️at extremely low temperatures, protect against static charge, bacteria 🦠and corrosion. Another interesting ❕❕fact. With jet fuel produced from one barrel 🛢️of oil the giant 🛫Boeing 747 can fly only 1 kilometre.
