🎤🎶 "Yo, it's Eminem here with a reminder for all the strategic intellectual property (IP) leaders out there! 🌟 🔍 Let's dive into the iconic lyrics of Lose Yourself and relate them to the challenges faced by global IP managers: 🎵 Look, if you had one shot, or one opportunity To seize everything you ever wanted, in one moment Would you capture it, or just let it slip? 🌍 As leaders in IP management, we often face the pressure of making crucial decisions in a fast-paced, competitive environment. Every decision could be that 'one shot' to protect and maximize the value of our intellectual property assets. The challenge lies in seizing these opportunities effectively and not letting them slip away amidst the complexities of global markets and evolving technologies. 🎵 You better lose yourself in the music, the moment You own it, you better never let it go 💡 Similarly, in the realm of intellectual property, it's essential to immerse ourselves in understanding the nuances of IP laws, market trends, and emerging technologies. Once we identify valuable IP assets, we must take ownership and ensure comprehensive protection strategies are in place to safeguard them from infringement and exploitation. 🎵 You only get one shot, do not miss your chance to blow This opportunity comes once in a lifetime 🚀 The management of intellectual property demands proactive strategies to capitalize on opportunities and mitigate risks effectively. We must stay vigilant and agile in adapting to changes in the competitive landscape, regulatory frameworks, and emerging threats to our IP portfolios. 🔑 Remember, as leaders in intellectual property management, we have the power to shape the future of innovation and drive strategic growth for our organizations. Let's embrace the challenges, seize the opportunities, and make every moment count! 💪💼 https://lnkd.in/d5f8xDbw #IPManagement #Innovation #Ip #wipo #intellectualproperty #StrategicLeadership #Eminem #LoseYourself

The perpetrator will set unrealistic expectations on you. They will be full on from the start creating a set of rules for you to uphold. They will expect you to be perfect, change how you look, who you see, where you go. The rules never stay the same, no matter how you comply.

What's "preening" 🌟? Why do we preen, and does it always happen intentionally? How does preening look alike, and what are its implications? What are the work environments that encourage preening cultivation? Last but not least - how to battle preening? These are the questions I address in the latest post on No Kill Switch. P.S. Also, if you're interested in other topics related to leadership, technology, and entrepreneurship, I encourage you to take a look 👁️ at CTO Morning Coffee ☕ - a small but vibrant community dedicated to these domains that I run together with two friends: Tomasz and Wojtek.

As a leader, I love discovering new ways of thinking and bringing new ideas out to challenge my own thinking. Remember that phrase ’Those who don't know history are destined to repeat it’ that Spanish philosopher George Santayana said? Looking at the modern business world I am inclined to agree. Having said that, there are positive lessons of history that seem to have eluded the modern business world. One section of history that was put onto my radar only yesterday was that of Sam Conniff’s book ‘Be More Pirate’ which so convincingly describes the positive fundamentals of the Pirate code, with a justification in adopting ‘some’ of those ideals into our everyday. Changing the rules, true accountability and fostering an inclusive culture surely are facets we want to encourage! It must be added here, that neither he (nor I) advocates ‘piracy’! This short clip explains in essence some of those ideals! Let me know your thoughts. Thanks to Sammy Everard FIOEE, FIEP, FRSA and Tara Fisher FIEP for the tip! #compassionateleadership #consciousleadership #healthyrebellion #bemorepirate

CEO | Board Director | Trusted Advisor | Board Strategic Planning Facilitation | CFO+ | Business Owner | Executive Coach | Family Office | M&A 100+ Deals | $400M+ Capital Raised
When considering the need for an interim CEO, boards must be attuned to a variety of signals that go beyond the obvious metrics like missed financial targets or market share decline. One crucial indicator that often flies under the radar is the subtle erosion of trust within the organization's ecosystem. The Silent Trust Erosion: A key sign that might be overlooked is the gradual disintegration of confidence in leadership among your high-performers. This particular group serves as the backbone of most organizations. When high-performers begin to lose faith in the direction or capabilities of top leadership, it can trigger a cascade of negative consequences that may not immediately reflect in quantifiable metrics. How This Manifests. What does this look like in the organization and how do employees show up (Behaviors): 1. Increased Informal Meetings: A surge in unofficial gatherings or "water cooler" conversations where managers discuss concerns about leadership decisions. 2. Resistance to New Initiatives: A noticeable reluctance or passive resistance when implementing new strategies or projects proposed by the C-suite. Information Hoarding: Middle managers may begin to withhold or selectively share information, creating silos that hinder organizational transparency and efficiency. 3. Exodus of High-Potential Talent: The departure of promising employees who were being groomed for higher roles can signal a lack of confidence in the company's future direction. 3. Decreased Engagement in Strategic Planning: A decline in enthusiastic participation during strategy sessions or long-term planning meetings. Why This Matters: The erosion of trust is particularly insidious because it can slowly undermine the organization's ability to execute its strategy effectively. Unlike more visible issues such as public scandals or major financial setbacks, this trust deficit can persist unnoticed for extended periods, quietly sabotaging the company's performance and culture. In my role as the Interim CEO of this exact scenario. I catalyzed the rebuilding trust by: (not limited to, but that's my secret playbook) ~Bring a fresh perspective unencumbered by historical baggage ~Facilitate open dialogues across all levels of the organization ~Implemented transparent communication practices
What are the early warning signs that a board should be on the lookout for? Beyond the obvious indicators like missed targets, there’s one crucial sign that might be slipping under the radar. Discover the key signal in a recent conversation that Kristen McAlister had with Greg Head that could prompt a board to step in and take action. https://lnkd.in/dEFVCJbi
