Last night I had the privilege of attending an event with Mother Untitled's Neha Ruch, Sheila Lirio Marcelo of Ohai.ai and Alicin Reidy Williamson from MAKERS Women, discussing motherhood, the workforce, ambition, inspiration, office politics, and the personal and professional evolutions of women.
It was exactly the evening I needed during this busy, family focused month of June. It left me inspired and energized about my career and my ability to carve my own path, authentically, while possibly helping others to do the same.
And, it reminded me of a LinkedIn article I wrote two years ago about my own professional evolution (up to this point!). Here is a part of it below, you can check out the full article on my profile.
Thank you Dara Astmann, CPC, ACC, ELI-MP for the invite to this wonderful and special evening in the city! :)

" My career path has been anything but a straight line. I have jumped from business to politics; the law to (now) real estate. But, as I get older, instead of feeling like I should be somewhere, I feel more and more that my entire professional life has been an evolution, and the end point is still unseen to me.
If I could talk to my younger, twenty-year-old self, walking confidently through the halls of the Estee Lauder Companies (my first post-college job), not knowing the windy path that would see me through law school, motherhood, struggles to find flexible and part-time work and now success at slowly building my own brand in local real estate... I would say these three things...
1. Each skill you learn at your job today can be applied to many other professions and careers. No experience or position is wasted. At every internship, job, or even job interview you will learn one thing, meet one person, or have one intuition that will carry to the next job and make you better. No time is a waste..."
