Our CEO/founder Jennifer Cloer interviewed Women to Women Network founder Liz Hatcher about how the group stands apart from similar organizations. It's incredibly timely given the recent closures of some women in tech and business groups. What Jennifer found so compelling about Liz and her work is the intimacy she's able to tap into, creating a pretty special experience for her members. Jennifer writes: "I’ve found intimacy among women in a variety of places and moments. It’s not always about a regular group of friends, a weekly work meetup or an annual industry event; sometimes, it’s the coffee meetup where someone shares that they’re suffering from grief and are concerned they won’t be able to keep their business afloat, or someone tells a story about being sexually harassed at work and having to leave that job. Sometimes it’s a moment, an opening, where you see someone and they see you." I am part of the Women@TC EIN that is being led by Leanne Zee, Krystle J., MBA, PMP and Gilma Cortes Araiza and it’s such an exciting EIN to be a part of! ❓Need an idea of how to keep people connecting in an EIN you are a part of? 💡Coffee Roulette! It has everything to do with connecting over coffee or tea and noting to do with roulette! 👂Have I caught your attention? 1️⃣ Pull a list of all the people in your EIN. 2️⃣ Challenge them to connect with their ‘list neighbor’ (the person directly above and below them on the list). 3️⃣ Set a timeline of when they need to connect by and encourage them to do it in person (or virtual if in person won’t work). 4️⃣ Watch as new relationship seeds are planted and blossom 🌸. 🤝feel free to use this idea at your place of work! #sharingiscaring

As humans, we are wired for connection. But for many women, this is something that's missing. I'm not talking surface-level connections involving air kisses and small talk, nor transactional connections based purely on what people can give and take from each other. Because let's be real... these connections inevitably leave you feeling even more disconnected than before you leaned into them, which is why so many of us cringe when we know we have to attend one of those types of events that are filled with people doing just that. I'm talking about those connections where you feel you can show up just as you are. For who you are and not what you do. I want to create spaces where women can gather to have these types of connections with themselves and with others. A space where women can learn from each other, support each other, and connect with themselves on a deeper level. Last night, a group of women came together in #Melbourne, Australia. The purpose was to create a safe space for genuine connection. These women didn't know each other, weren't all in the same industry, and didn't have similar backgrounds. But people are people. Once we remove the titles, the businesses, the partners, the children, the armour, and all the stuff in between, we realise that underneath it all, we are just people wanting to be seen, heard, and to know that we matter. We all want to belong. And #belonging starts within ourselves. This wasn't a #networking event. It was a #connection event. The women didn't come to the table with what they DO. They came to the table AS THEY ARE. Because who we are is the platform for what we do when we are living in alignment with our values.
