I had such an honour yesterday to be a keynote speaker at Westpac's Youth Week, hosted by ‘The Youth Network’, one of Westpac’s Employee Advocacy Groups (https://lnkd.in/dER3GGYQ). The focus of my keynote was on building understanding of the differences between generations, talking through what effective leadership looks like, sharing motivational strategies for Gen Z and tips on how to develop future leaders. We currently have four generations in the workforce, and as more Baby Boomers continue to retire, Gen Z will be making up 30% of workforce in the next coming years. Understanding how to motivate and engage this generation is critical. Some of the things Gen Z value in the workplace include authenticity, career growth, diversity & inclusion, community, dialogue and focus on the wellbeing of employees and world at large. I absolutely love how beautifully these align with what research tells us effective leaders do and focus on! It also gives me great hope for Gen Z as our future leaders. #leadershipdevelopment #futureleaders #genz #diversity #inclusion
