I'm not sure 'New year, New Job' is as big a thing as it has been previously (will be interesting to chart application rates) but there will still be plenty out there wondering what 2024 has in store. If this is you, there are lots of routes to a new role but most will include doing a CV. The most important thing? You should highlight your successes and achievements. When applying for a job, it is crucial to showcase your accomplishments as they provide concrete evidence of your skills, capabilities, and contributions to your previous roles. Whether it's exceeding targets, leading successful projects, or receiving accolades for your work, these achievements demonstrate your value as a potential employee and set you apart. Second most important thing? Don't worry if you don't get the job. When I started interviewing for Omnis, I was struck at how many recruiters werent really considering their finances for the long term. As an industry we have placed massive emphasis on the immediacy of rewards and I suspect wider society is much the same. Earn money spend money. It begs the question – how will you fund the future? Will you really just “worry about it later”? State pension is currently about £10k / year How big is your pension pot? A pension pot of £500k gives £24k / year of income assuming your withdrew 25% tax free, leaving £375k. bear in mind this is from age 66. All through my previous role we celebrated and emphasised the value of getting on the property ladder, and I maintain this is a crucial part of navigating asset acquisition and value creation. But, we have to go further. At Omnis Partners, in addition to highly competitive commission and salary we have exchanged lunch clubs and trips for financial rewards. We still have lunches together, but they are casual events we all enjoy, and no doubt we will travel, but the key here is that your hard work should be materialising in capital assets and capital growth that form part of future proofing your life. Its also why everyone here has equity. Each year, depending on performance, we will pay a dividend that all staff can participate in, again designed to help build and strengthen your financial position. And, in the event that the business realises a capital event, everyone benefits. The fact that the leadership team has proven and successful transaction experience makes this all the more likely.
