Honestly…. Balancing being proud of achievements with always wanting more is one of the biggest challenges I’ve faced since setting up TogetherWeTech. Recently, I’ve come to terms with the fact that as long as your goals get bigger, this won’t ever change, and that’s fine. Both “things” are capable of sitting in parallel. The true challenge comes from the fear of resting on either side for too long, as it can lead to: 👎🏾 Complacency (Overdoing the wins)  👎🏾 Lack of gratitude (Not appreciating your journey) There shouldn’t be any shame in being proud of your achievements, but it's so important to keep the flame of ambition burning to keep growing! Saying all of that, I must admit that I’m sitting 51% on the “proud of achievements” side of things this morning. With a view like that on the walk to the office, it's hard not to be. The transformation begins! Week 2 of my ALX Journey and I’m embracing a new MINDSET! One of this week's modules on the Virtual Assistant mindset highlighted the importance of cultivating curiosity and adaptability. It's not just about skills and tasks, but about understanding the executive mindset and developing a blueprint for success. It's not only about the money (although that's a great benefit too!), but about gaining insight into how high-performing executives think, work, and lead. I'm excited to learn and grow, not just as a VA, but as a future executive myself. Then, a TikTok post quoting Isaiah 55:8-9 drove the message home: "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts more than your thoughts." It's a powerful reminder that my journey as a VA is not just about technical skills, but about trusting the process, being adaptable, and having faith in the unknown. I'm committed to staying curious, embracing challenges, and growing alongside my community. Who else is on a similar path? Goodbye Accelerate – Hello Forefront I've now done my last day at Accelerate. It’s been eight years, sex of which as CEO at Mjukvarukraft (acquired by Iver in February 2022). The politically correct thing is to say something such as “it’s been a rewarding and exciting time. And I’ve learned a lot”. And it has indeed. But the lasting impressions are not all necessarily work related. To be honest. Fun trips to European destinations, social events (monthly dinners at Texas Longhorn), Christmas dinners (“julbord”) and more pops up as fond memories when reminiscing. My findings and takeaways from the last years, in no particular order, are these: ·     To be successful in your job, you should surround yourself with people that are skilled, driven, good communicators and simply people you like to be with and that can help you grow as a person ·     You need to understand what is relevant for yourself, your peers, your organization and your clients. You need to manage complexity and fully comprehend what creates true value and how to achieve value creation ·     In the spirit of the previous point; at the end of the day, execution is what matters… ·     Make sure you create a workplace climate where feedback is encouraged. Positive as well as negative feedback, but make sure to ensure that negative feedback always includes how to improve – how to do it better… ·     It’s a cliché, I know, but you really need to keep being curious. You need to learn, continuously. The day you think that you know it all and you start calling yourself an expert in your field, you might want to consider doing something else… Some insights, for all it’s worth. I’m proud of having recruited many highly skilled professional over the years. I’ve successfully landed new contracts with existing and new clients. I’ve had the opportunity to work as consultant myself, something I really thrive on and find extremely inspiring. I’ve made numerous mistakes too of course. But I’ve always tried to learn from these – in fact, some of the most insightful findings over the years most likely come from past mishaps… I’m turning a page. Leaving my friends at Accelerate. I recently attended Neovation, an event looking at the future of Reward and these were my key takeaways and reflections: 1) Recognition isn’t just about culture and connection, it helps to drive performance and reduce turnover; employees who receive frequent recognition see their performance rating increase year-over-year. When companies think about recognition, they should think about how to implement it in a way that resonates with culture, values and promotes engagement and equity 2) In an increasingly transparent world, it’s not difficult for your people to compare themselves against others. To a degree, companies have to look at the market to understand the offerings of others who compete for similar talent, but it’s possible to simplify total rewards frameworks whilst providing increased flexibility and employee choice.  3) Communicate, communicate, communicate! In a world where fun and personalised content is pushed to us online in our personal lives, there is an increasing expectation for this to translate into how we’re communicated to at work. Many companies may find this challenging, and may be asking where to start. My suggestion would be to look at your people data, segment your population, create a communications plan to ensure that messages are timely and relevant and if you can use AI or automation!
