As the 18th March - Global Recycling Day is approaching, we would like to talk more about recycling. Raising awareness about recycling is important as recycling helps reduce the amount of waste that ends up in landfill. Some brands seek to go further by replacing fossil materials with bio-based materials. INTOPACK Bio-PE packaging is a good solution for products that can be packed into containers made of renewable material – sugar cane. How is bio-based plastic made? Sugar is extracted from sugar cane through pressing. The first pressing of the sugar cane is used for consumption purposes. The less rich follow-up pressing is then used for, among other things, the production of bio-based plastic. The extracted sugar is converted to Ethanol, which is used for making Bio polyethylene. Is bio-based packaging recyclable? Bio-PE containers are recyclable and can be collected in domestic recycling with other PE packaging. Contact us Innavisions Ltd to find out more about the availability of Bio-PE. #GlobalRecyclingDay #recycling #reusereducerecycle #sustainabledevelopment #sustainablepackaging https://lnkd.in/esWxJVBN

Today, the complex composition of multi-material structures, composed of various polymers and non-polymer components, hinders efficient sorting and often results in contamination, ultimately reducing the quality and profitability of recycled materials. A #packaging structure is classified as a mono-material if it consists of only one basic raw material, such as #PE or #PP. It can be composed of several layers of film, each of which performs different packaging functions. #TaghleefIndustries offers a transformative approach to improving the #recyclability of #FlexiblePackaging and presents an interesting way forward to promote the #sustainability. Choosing to #reDESIGN™ the traditional packaging structure with Taghleef's service allows for simplification of the #recycling process, and promotes a more #CircularEconomy while maintaining the functionality that consumers and manufacturers rely on. Companies may tell us that their package is compostable or recyclable, if they package their product in a poly or poly-lined paper bag. This is rarely true. Multi-layered paper or poly bags are not recyclable and if they are missed in the sorting process, can jam up the machinery. Even packaging that looks like paper, has a poly barrier and a plastic valve. There are bags that claim composability but unless you have a commercial composting facility in your area, it is going in the trash. They take forever to break down, otherwise. Cans, made from steel, are 100% infinitely recyclable and require no special handling by the consumer or the processing facilities. Decorative cans are a premium package that builds the brand rather than a temporary, disposable package. An all-metal snap cover can complete the package after the hermetic seal is broken. There are also plastic overcaps that are easily separated from the tin by the consumer before recycling. Products can stay fresh in a hermetic can for up to a year vs. the 3 - 6 months for poly bags.
