In the wake of Sustainable Skies World Summit, it’s time for aircraft developers, airlines, and airports to map out what supportive infrastructure is needed to support low-carbon flight. I am really looking forward to being at Farnborough International Airshow next week. The last big aviation event I attended was the Sustainable Skies World Summit #SSWS24 ✈ in May, where I was interviewed about the progress being made on the journey towards achieving net zero in aviation. A lot has changed since then, with a new Government elected and, today, the King's Speech. With the introduction of the Energy Independence Bill to create Great British Energy, which has a key ambition to decarbonise the electricity grid by 2030, the National Wealth Fund to be used, in part, to fund carbon capture and renewable hydrogen production, plus the important introduction of a SAF Bill and a Revenue Certainty Mechanism, the future is looking bright for aviation. And continued collaboration across government, academia and industry will make that future even brighter! #aviation #sustainableaviation #netzero #collaboration

Sustainable Skies World Summit celebrates World Environment Day as an opportunity to reflect on the importance of protecting the environment and to take meaningful action towards decarbonising the aviation sector. Last month, we hosted #SSWS24, which welcomed leaders from the global aerospace industry for two days of informative discussions, valuable insights, and networking opportunities centred around shaping the future of sustainable aviation.
