In my household we have a phrase - ‘need to know basis…’ While my partner can plan 10 years out for the government budget 💴 , we typically only give him one month projections on the very official wipe off calendar on the fridge 📆 Enjoying an early dinner out last night (delicious mussels, frites and an IPA 🍻 on a windy cold day! Delicious!), we were looking at some flight info and he saw my list of upcoming SWA flights and could not believe it!  Opps 😙 Some... Atlanta (NBOA Annual Meeting) and St. Louis (National Association of Independent Schools conference) are on the fridge and others will make the ‘need to know’ list soon - Atlantic City (American Camp Association's Tri State conference), Boston (SPARC, Summer Programs and Auxiliary Revenue Collaborative Auxiliary Summit), and Montreal (Global Education Benchmark Group)… Shhh… this list still does not include Phoenix (SPARC, Summer Programs and Auxiliary Revenue Collaborative National Conference, and personal travel which he knows about but perhaps not the full volume...Maine 🎓 , Bermuda 🚢❤️, Puerto Vallarta ⚽ , Key West 🌴 🥥 …but 'no need' to tell him yet 2024 started off slow but looking forward to a bunch of work/vacation travel in the coming months! 🛩 🚢 🛶 👜 My son, Keegan McClelland commented yesterday while visiting San Francisco from his home in Boulder... not traveling for a few weeks and he was missing traveling too… apple 🍎 does not fall far… cheers for adventures and connecting with friends and colleagues all over! 🎉 🥂 😎 How do you manage your family and work calendar? 😎 What adventures do you have planned? 😎 What fun family phrases or 'techniques' do you have? #gratitude #professionaldevelopment #leadershipdevelopment #travel2024 #summerprograms #auxiliaryprograms #livingthedream

As many of you know, I relocated my corporate role from London to Milan.  Today, I’ll explain why, when working in an international company—especially between Italy and the UK—being aware of each country’s holiday schedule is crucial for smooth planning. Italy has several public holidays that differ from the UK, and these can impact the scheduling of major meetings, deadlines, and project timelines. The main Italian holidays observed in Italy, which cause business to slow down while things remain in full swing in the UK, are: ↳ Epiphany (6th January) ↳ Liberation Day (25th April) ↳ Labour Day (1st May) ↳ Republic Day (2nd June) ↳ Ferragosto (15th August) ↳ All Saints’ Day (1st November) ↳ The Feast of the Immaculate Conception (8th December) If you're unaware of these holidays, you could find yourself trying to schedule a major meeting while your Italian colleagues are enjoying their time off. One takeaway for me was that everyday during Terry’s run across #Canada he woke up each morning not thinking about running across Canada. He awoke, with one leg amputated and Cancer continuing to spread across his body, ran and looked ahead to the next lamp post. The next lamp post. With every lamp post he asked himself if he could make it. When he decided he could, he would. We should only ask of ourselves the same. Move forward with smaller goals that intend to meet the larger ones. #TerryFox’s goal was $1,000,000 in Cancer support fundraising. To date, it’s over $850,000,000. #MeetingsMatter. Human connections matter. Inspirational stories matter to us all. Let’s give every event attendee a story they will share that inspire others as well. There’s an ROI of human connections. Let’s nurture it. Let’s express it. And let’s accomplish what we’re meant to do. Connect people so they can learn, grow and provide for their community. Let’s meet at the lamp post ahead.
