Award Winning Procurement Consultant/Director TOBS Consultancy/Development/Construction Procurement and Contract Management/Business Mentor/CIPS Tutor/School Governor/Founder Wildflower_Network
Blessed Monday! Hope everyone had a great weekend and ready for the for the adventures of the week! Starting off the week on great note with the receipt of my Advanced Practioner Procurement Act 2023 badge. Taking part in the deep dive sessions last week sponsored great discussions with other passionate procurement practitioners offering insight and in depth understanding of the application of the Act through various real life case studies and scenarios. Thanks to Richard Howroyd FCPFA for facilitating an insightful session. Over the three days, we delved into: 💡pre-market engagement and the various tools that can be used to ensure the benefits of the new provision can be maximised. Management of conflict of interest will become paramount to demonstrating adherence to equal treatment and transparency obligations 💡designing a procurement process using the new competitive flexible procedure, with key focus on leverage innovation, developing robust processes, drafting effective and defensible and selecting fit for purpose solutions. 💡understanding the shift from MEAT to MAT to shift mindsets and change behaviour to support using procurement as vehicle to deliver wider community and national benefits. 💡what it means to have regard for SMEs in the process design and development and especially looking how barriers can be removed. Looking forward to further discussions around this area in particular. 💡the pros and cons of Framework, Open frameworks and Dynamic market and the options appraisal process for selecting the right approach for the market and requirements. 💡the pros and cons of Debarment register and understanding that great care and due diligence must be undertaken before excluding suppliers on this basis. More guidance in this area to follow to support the implementation. Looking forward to supporting my public sector clients to leverage the provisions of the new regime, working with wider stakeholders to educate and promote the benefits of the new regime and working As a Business Mentor for SMEs, I will continue to with public sector buyer and SMEs sellers to open up access to public contracts and remove barriers to participation. Stay tuned for more #procurement #act updates. Less than 4months to go to implementation, is your organisation ready? #procurement #act #transition #implementation #better #outcomes #inclusive #economy
