https://lnkd.in/g5xFzsrn I am reaching out with a heavy heart and an urgent plea for support. Our children, the future of our nation, are facing an unprecedented crisis, and we cannot afford to remain silent or inactive any longer. Since January 2023, critical documents and case files concerning the rising number of suicides have been sitting with the Ministries of Defense, External Affairs, Home Affairs, and Health and Family Welfare. Despite the availability of data, there has been no response from any of these ministries. Our children are not just statistics in a database; they are our hope, our joy, and the very essence of our future. Every child lost to suicide is a devastating tragedy for their family and our community. Each life cut short represents unfulfilled dreams, potential contributions to society, and the irreplaceable loss of a loved one. It is beyond heartbreaking to think of the suffering these children endured, often in silence, without the help they desperately needed. This is a matter of national urgency and should be treated with the same seriousness as any other crisis. I urge the Ministries of Defense, External Affairs, Home Affairs, and Health and Family Welfare to provide their responses and action plans without further delay. Moreover, the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) must improve its data collection processes. Accurate and comprehensive statistics are crucial for understanding the full scope of this crisis and for implementing effective solutions. Currently, the NCRB is the authorized source of data on child suicides, but its deficiencies hinder our ability to respond appropriately. This appeal is not just about gathering data or filing reports. It’s about the real, tangible actions we need to take to prevent more children from feeling so hopeless that they see no other way out. It’s about creating a society where our children feel safe, supported, and understood. We must call on our government to respond with the seriousness and compassion this crisis demands. We must work together to build a world where no child feels alone in their pain. 👍🏼 Thank You Army Welfare Education Society for your commitment to the cause. 🔊 Join The Connect Hut for the NEXT Suicide Prevention Training. In honor of suicide awareness month, posting a class you can offer to your associates. Many of us have been, are or will be affected by suicide. Pull someone a little closer & offer hope. #suicideawareness #employeeresources #hope
This training is for everyone and every company wanting to take proper action when it comes to suicide awareness. Every life lost to suicide is a devastating tragedy. The more we are equipped to recognise and safely intervene to help someone at risk — the better. Our new therapist-led Suicide Awareness Training supports businesses to start today, not when they're forced to. You can sign up via your business, and we'll train 20 of your people (in person or online). Or you can sign up as an individual, and you can join a cohort of people who care. Register here to find out more: https://lnkd.in/e-jHNs94 — Out of all the things we work on at Self Space, I am most passionate about this at the moment. I'd love to see this made available to creative industries, law, hospitality, sport, education, tech start-ups — the lot. Give this a share lads. And lasses. And non-binary pals. All people. FANKS. #mentalhealth #suicideawareness #training
