We had 450+ folks apply for our content lead role in 24 hours 🔥 Some quick thoughts on scaling talent density @ Verbatim: 1. Talent is everything - especially true in service models In an agency or service-based business, your people are your product. If you want to sell a better product, you need to hire the best in the world - full stop. 2. Quality comes first, followed by speed and agency Quality has been our northstar from day one. Speed is a fast follow. Rapid turnaround times + sprinting to deliver in time-bounded deadlines is crucial. 3. Ability to communicate clearly is wildly underrated As a 100% remote business, our team at Verbatim needs to be able to communicate with eachother clearly, efficiently, and concisely - without ego. 4. Top writers wants to work closely with top writers Talent attracts talent. The same way the best engineers want to work with the best engineers, top marketers want to be in the same room with eachother. 5. Full-stack writing (lifecycle, social, ads) is critical As B2B content evolves, every new content team member we onboard needs to be able to effectively create long-form, short-form, and lifecycle assets. Lots more to share as we ramp up our hiring this quarter ⚡

I’ve been hiring a live-in editor for a creator. It’s insane. He is SO much more meticulous about this hire compared to hiring a remote editor or in office editor. When you’re hiring someone to live with you, you don’t just care about: - skills - experience - portfolio You also care about: - character - values - habits It highlights to me that there is more to a person than just their skill. Character matters too and I overlooked this myself until I was hiring people. So if you’re job hunting, don’t just focus on building your CV. Build your character too.

ZoopNews is hiring a news writer intern on a freelance basis. The job role and responsibilities are pretty simple. There is a stipend of 10k being offered. However, all the applicants or interns are mandated to pay an application fee of 100 INR. How do you react to or handle such job postings? Do you proceed with the application fee and get the job which is not really a sure thing either. Or you bypass the offer? Write your answers in comments.

What sounds better? Hiring an established award-winning TEAM of healthcare-specific content development experts that are ready when you are? Or, hiring in-house writers or freelancers that require training and have a finite amount of time available? Which option do you trust to meet your timelines and reduce your workload?

Interruptions keep coming up while you are working. A message from home, a call from a random salesperson or a plumber who needs to work at your home in the afternoon… These interruptions seriously hamper your productivity and time management. Ideally, when you are working, you should: - Do focused work - Follow a set timetable - Not miss any planned tasks - Not receive non-urgent calls These interruptions are the holes in your Efficiency Bucket. You need to take action to put a stop to them. But how? Here are 4 steps: 1. Silent your Whatsapp and social media notifications 2. Tell family and friends not to call during certain hours unless urgent 3. Discipline yourself not to get distracted by social media scrolling 4. Do not browse news channels during working hours All this will help you achieve your daily goals calmly and peacefully. It will boost your productivity and maximize your working time. And eventually, boost your earnings. Bye for now! P.S. If you are facing a problem hitting your sales mark, hiring a skilled copywriter might be just the solution for you.

Lifehack when hiring a copywriter (and any other employee): publish a test task on your website and use UTM tags for each employee (to hide the URL, use a shortener). Don't forget to install the user session recording web-tool ;)
