"In today's fast-paced, rapidly evolving world, acquiring skills is crucial for success. My mentor, who taught us Salesforce management at IAS, recently emphasized the importance of skills for youth in the current era. He stressed that learning skills is essential for achieving our goals and expectations, regardless of our role - whether we're students, teachers, employees, or entrepreneurs. In his final lecture, he highlighted the significance of 21st-century skills, which are vital for everyone. These skills enable us to adapt, innovate, and thrive in an ever-changing landscape. Without them, we risk falling behind and struggling to meet our objectives. In my opinion, it's crucial to focus on developing two key areas: literacy and life skills. Literacy skills, including digital literacy, empower us to navigate and make sense of the vast amounts of information available. Life skills, such as critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration, enable us to apply knowledge effectively, make informed decisions, and build strong relationships. By prioritizing the development of these skills, we'll be better equipped to succeed in our personal and professional lives, drive innovation, and make a meaningful impact in the world."

@WGT Narrative #3 FUTURE ROOTS 2017 was our 2nd Erasmus+ Youth Exchange to learn more about the inclusion of newcomers and opportunities to contribute to the future prospects of youngsters in migrants' home countries. This Youth Exchange gave us a very good new vision on migration and ideas for common action. To us it became very clear: young locals, young newcomers and young community leaders from developing countries and home countries of migrants are KEY Partners for change! 🌱🌍✌️❤️ Nowadays migration is a very important topic to combine with (y)our FUTURE ROOTS. Where will we take root in 2050-2100?? Individually & globally. Due to climate challenges and wars, more and more people (might) have to leave their communities and countries. In the lives of our children, grandchildren and their children, it might be a common challenge. A challenge to be prepared for! #WeGrowTogether #PowerOfYoungsters #PowerOfLocalCommunities #PowerOfAllGenerations #PowerOfNewNarratives #ClimateEducation #ClimateEntrepreneurship #WorkofBasicNeeds #LivingLegends #NoOneLeftBehind https://lnkd.in/eu88PECg

Catch the SDG Academy's Shannon Kobran on the Global Citizenship Education Interview Series! In her interview with Dr. Emiliano T. Bosio, Ph.D., Shannon discusses her personal understanding of global citizenship and global citizenship education. "What I've come to understand is that it's less about learning what's going on with other people in the rest of the world, and more about understanding your place in the wider world." Through media, trade, supply chains, the flow and exchange of ideas and knowledge—we are all global citizens, whether we know it or not. As such, we have a responsibility to the rest of the world to understand and account for how our actions and our choices affect people near and far. Thankfully, our work at the SDG Academy helps people understand these crucial interlinkages so that we can make better decisions for ourselves and others. Today we celebrate International Day of Education and the role that education plays for #peace and #sustainabledevelopment. By adopting the 2030 Agenda in 2015, the global community agreed that #education is vital for achieving all 17 SDGs, with SDG4 aiming for inclusive, quality education and lifelong learning. Multilateral collaboration, cross-sectoral partnerships and innovative financing are key. The Netherlands emphasizes inclusive and high-quality education for all. Therefore, we support global education initiatives and organizations like UNESCO to ensure access to quality education for every child and citizen and endorse the message of learning as the pathway to lasting peace. #UNESCO #HumanRights #inclusiveness #InternationalDayofEducation #education

Development Communications | Project Management | International Business | Global Youth Ambassador @Theirworld
Applications for Theirworld Global Youth Ambassadors (GYA) are now open! 💃 A friend recently said to me, "You seem really passionate about education," and I couldn't help but smile and respond, "Hmm, do I?". It's funny because I've always seen myself as a bit of a "jack of all trades." I'm driven by a desire for all-round, inclusive development, spanning across different sectors and causes. It feels weird to claim that I'm passionate about everything, yet it also feels strange to narrow it down to just one thing. Does that make sense? Last year though, something clicked for me. I learnt about the interlinkages of Sustainable Development Goals, which made me realize that most of the challenges we face are all intertwined together. Society, after all, is complex in nature. So, I decided to take my learning and exploration seriously, to find where I could make a difference. This is why I joined Theirworld's Global Youth Ambassadors program. This program provides learning and networking resources for young people around the world in all things education advocacy and campaigning. Eventually, we will not only be able to run successful education initiatives in our communities but also be best positioned to advocate for policy and systemic changes for a sustainable future for children and young people. If this is something that interests you, whether a seasoned professional in education or a novice explorer like myself, I'd highly recommend joining the program. You can learn more about it here: https://lnkd.in/e9JkJ3Pc I'd also like an accountability buddy, so let me know if you join! 😂 #Theirworld #GlobalYouthAmbassador #EducationForAll #ActForEarlyYears #YouthLeaders #ApplyNow

It's been an interesting year within the #education sector. The beginning of the year started with loads of projects within the education sector for our organization. These projects allowed for more universities to be added to our growing list of institutions we work with. The education sector across the #UnitedKingdom is changing rapidly, with more foreign-born people going to university to gain a degree, More European settled students are also taking advantage of education, with employers looking for people with degrees moving into the future. Community-based engagement was one of the most useful tools I used this year, it was effective because the leaders understood how #education can improve members social status while living in the country. #unitedkingdom #universities #studentrecruitments #platinumeducationservcies

January 24, International Day of Education. 📚 This year, UNESCO dedicates #EducationDay to the crucial role education and teachers play in countering hate speech, a phenomenon which has snowballed in recent years with the use of social media, damaging the fabric of our societies. Under the theme - "Learning For Lasting Peace". "The world is seeing a surge of violent conflicts paralleled by an alarming rise of discrimination, racism, xenophobia, and hate speech. The impact of this violence transcends any boundary based on geography, gender, race, religion, politics, offline and online. An active commitment to peace is more urgent today than ever: Education is central to this endeavor, and learning for peace must be transformative, and help empower learners with the necessary knowledge, values, attitudes and skills and behaviors to become agents of peace in their communities." - UNESCO Our teams at PSA BDP stand in solidarity with International Education Day, actively promoting awareness and advocacy for global education.🫶 #EducationDay #HateSpeech #teampsa #unesco
