BREAKING NEWS 🎉 To clients and friends of Swimming Pool Services, I have spent 29 years being one of the leaders at Swimming Pool Services and 20 years being a majority owner, and plan to be a part of this team for many more years- albeit in a different capacity. Most of you have interacted with Mike Panella, who served in our retail store and more recently as Sales Manager, and Justin Lex during his time with our Service team and as Operations Manager. As of 2024, Mike and Justin have become the majority owners of SPS while I have become a minority owner. For 10 years, Mike and Justin have been members of our Leadership Team that has helped me to run the company, so I am very excited about the future at Swimming Pool Services! I have been so blessed to serve many awesome clients over the years and want to thank you for your support and trust! We do not foresee any changes to the day-to-day operation at SPS nor any major shift in how we do business. I look forward to continuing to serve you in the future in my new role as Vice President of Business Development. Sincerely, David J. Thompson

I Live At The Intersection Of Sales & Marketing To Make Busy Professionals Legends In Their Industry
The first rule of the Coast Guard is to help the ones swimming towards you, so why do we feel the need to help the ones actively swimming away from us? Everyone drowns with that plan, on this week's #oneminutewednesday! In leadership, sales, business and life we tend to chase after the ones who are not meeting us halfway, the ones swimming towards us. We chase the ones who are not convinced, we feel we need to change their mind. The reality is nothing we do will change their mind, NOW. Only the long game. There are so many swimming towards us, help them, work with them and let the others come around when they are ready to be helped. I once told a prospect I have zero interest in making a double sale. Convincing someone that what I provide works, and that the price I do it for is valuable. Just make one sale, that is a challenge in itself! Serve cool and enjoy!

Energy Transition verse Energy Reliability which is more important? Without Energy Reliability there is no Energy Transition without major disruptions to our economy and standard of living. We can work on the transition if we are reliable. If we aren't reliable, we will be out of business.

"There were varied leadership styles throughout the dives, but what stayed a common denominator was the respect that each diver showed for each other and their ability to discuss things that went well and things that could use improvement as well as just exactly how to fix those things." - Guy Shockey: How to Integrate Human Factors Education into a New Diving Class: A Real World Example https://buff.ly/4csYrmD #TheHumanDiver #Diving #JustCulture #NonTechnicalSkills #HumanFactors #Debrief #DecisionMaking #GuyShockey #Leadership #Teamwork

THE BEST WEEK OF THE YEAR IS HERE! MASTERS WEEK! WICKWIRE REAL ESTATE CORDIALLY INVITES YOU TO PARTICIPATE IN THE WRE 2024 MASTERS POOL HOW IT WORKS The field is automatically separated into 6 tiers based on odds. Everyone picks a golfer from each tier giving you a team of 6 golfers. Your team score will only include the best 4 out of your 6 golfers - the worst 2 scores are dropped. The best team score at the end of the tournament wins the pool. A score of 80 will be automatically entered for the weekend scores of golfers who miss the cut. *IMPORTANT CAVEAT TO THE FORMAT* - IN ORDER TO WIN THE POOL, THE GOLFER THAT WINS THE MASTERS TOURNAMENT MUST BE 1 OF YOUR 6 GOLFERS!!! If only one person picks the winner, that person automatically wins the pool regardless of scores of their other golfers. If multiple people pick the winner, the one with the best overall team score wins. When you enter your picks, you’ll be asked to enter a winning score prediction for tie breaker purposes. Second tie breaker will be whoever’s best golfer has a better score. Third tie breaker will be whoever’s second best golfer has a better score. So on and so forth if needed. Winner of the pool takes all the money + a free round of golf with me!!! HOW TO JOIN THE POOL Venmo $50 to @AustinWickwire Pick your team of golfers here: https://lnkd.in/etXNqfhA LIVE LEADERBOARD Follow the action live https://lnkd.in/e_U4vPKw If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. In golf and life, both luck and hard work come into play. In 2019 my best golfing buddy Andrew and I qualified for the US 4Ball Amateur Championship at Bandon Dunes Looking back it was life-changing as it made me get over my imposter syndrome and embrace a play big mindset in the arena. Here is what I have determined is the luck v. hard work recipe that made it possible: Luck: my dog woke me on qualifying morning at 4:30a to drive to Philadelphia as the first group off (overslept alarm) Hard work: I practiced 6 hours a week, all winter indoors to be ready for the championship in May Luck: my first makeable birdie putt on #2 dropped from 30 ft ( > 10% chance on PGA tour) Hard work: Our team dynamic had improved greatly over 10 years of competing, like a marriage we figured out how to agree/disagree and avoid arguments all together Luck: when I went to play my practice round, it got to dark to finish 18 but the caddie at the top of the hill told me where to hit it and putt from for the win Hard work: the 4 footer to qualify was knee knocking stressful but I had already hit that put 10,000 times in practice and just followed the routine into the hole There are a million things that happen "for us" every day just to stay ahead, alive, and in the position for luck to be in your favor. Do the hard work so when it comes down to luck you are in a position to have the chance. Then let the chips fall, accept your losses as well as your wins, and celebrate the friends who helped get you there.

This weekend was the Kentucky Derby, and on the historic 150th running of this race, Mystik Dan delivered a breath-taking win, beating second place Sierra Leone and third place Forever Young in the first three horse photo finish since 1947 ended in a 3-horse photo finish. This year's race marks a unique milestone with the 150th running of the Derby — the first race took place back in 1875. There are lots of interesting facts about the Derby, with the drink of the race is the Mint Julep, made with Woodford Reserve as the official bourbon for the race. There wasn’t an official trophy for the race for almost 50 years, the first race was in 1875 and the trophy was created in 1924. To this day the Kentucky Derby trophy is one of the only solid gold trophies in the United States. The fastest Kentucky Derby was run by Secretariat in 1973 (1:59.40). The slowest winning time was run by Kingman in 1891 (2:52.25 for the mile and a half). There have been three fillies to win the race. I love the Kentucky Derby not only because it’s exciting, but also because it always provides important leadership lessons. Here are a few from the 2024 race: You can win against all odds. You just never know. You can’t stop until the end. This was an exciting race to watch, and even more interesting doing research on the history of the Derby as well as the winner. If you have something interesting to add to the lore of the Kentucky Derby, drop it in the chat. Don’t forget to like, comment, and follow so you don’t miss future content. This is an ideal time to look at your golf game and decide what you need to focus on to improve as a golfer. Having a great looking swing is not going to be the answer on most occasions. As a golfer and a golf coach I am always striving to improve and I have definitely made more progress in both these areas when I have had someone in my corner to guide me. Look at who you have in your corner and take action to think who you could get in touch with to guide you along on your development journey. #golf #golfers #golfcoach #golfcoaching #guidance #improvement #development #takeaction
