As a child we jumped off piers, swam so far beyond our abilities, took enormous risks but always felt guided and given value to understanding the risks from those around us. Taking Risk is a right of passage but by keeping our personal responsibility sharp we can live the dream. Doing the right thing as regards safety, is an ethos, taking risks is guided by our Understanding of the environment and our abilities. where we fit in. 🔆 Lifeguarding isn't just about red shorts and a whistle, folks. The pool deck is equal parts classroom, gym, and chess board. Let's dive in. 🌊 Q: Why is Lifeguard training so important? 🤔 A: Incredibly, most emergency situations can be prevented with adequate training. Lifeguards are the first line of defense. They're equipped with skills in rescue techniques, CPR, and first-aid, ensuring everyone's safety. They're not just observers, but quick responders who can make a significant difference in critical scenarios. Q: What makes an excellent Lifeguard? 💪 A: Excellent lifeguards have two primary attributes – physical endurance and sharp observational skills. Sound swimming skills, agility, and stamina are a given. However, vigilance, quick decision-making, and communication skills under pressure often prove the most consequential. Tip the scales towards safety. Have more questions? Send them my way. 👍 #AskWheeler #SafetyFirst #LifeguardQA

Do you need a lifeguard at your pool? Here's a simple guide for you: General Rule: Any pool deeper than 5 feet (1.5 meters) should have a lifeguard. Safety first! For Kid: Surface pools (less than 5 feet) might still need a lifeguard if kids swim. Public Pools: Most public pools require lifeguards, regardless of depth. Keep an eye out! Home Pools: Consider hiring a lifeguard if your backyard pool is deep or often busy. This will give you peace of mind while you swim! Want to know more about it?
