🚍 Advancing Swiss Public Transport with Innovation 🚍 We're thrilled to share that our #AutoDepot Project has been featured in the latest Overview of Research and Innovation in Public Transport report by the Office fédéral des transports OFT . This recognition highlights our efforts toward a more efficient and sustainable future for public transportation in Switzerland. Imagine a world where buses park, recharge, and maintain themselves autonomously, freeing up valuable time for drivers and reducing operational costs. Our vision is becoming a reality, thanks to collaborative efforts. After a pre-study concluded that the project is viable and makes sense, we are now gathering members to build a #consortium to create the first prototype, expected to be ready by 2028. 11 SAAM members supported the initial proof of concept, and discussions are currently active to involve them in this next phase. We have included below the report pages about the project (swipe for French 👉) For more information, visit the project page on our website: https://lnkd.in/eqqZ8DSp #SAAM #AutonomousVehicles #PublicTransport #Innovation #Sustainability #SmartMobility #FutureOfTransport #SwissTransport

ADASTEC Sets Global Milestone with the World's First Full-Size Automated Bus Airport Transportation We are excited to announce a major breakthrough in public transportation: the launch of the world's first SAE Level-4 automated bus service for airport transportation at Rotterdam The Hague Airport (RTHA). This groundbreaking initiative is a collaboration between ADASTEC, Karsan Automotive, and AppliedAutonomy, supported by key transportation operator RET, and made possible through the joint efforts of Rotterdam The Hague Airport, the Municipality of Rotterdam, Dutch Automated Mobility, City of Rotterdam and the Metropoolregio Rotterdam Den Haag. The launch of this project sets a new standard in Europe for automated public transportation to an airport. This landmark project introduces two new automated bus services from Meijersplein metro station to RTHA, which is set to enhance the existing bus line 33 by the end of 2024. Designed to carry at least 15 passengers, including luggage, and to be wheelchair accessible, these buses are a leap towards a more sustainable, efficient, and accessible future, embodying our vision for enhanced urban mobility and commitment to reducing carbon emissions. We extend our deepest gratitude to all our partners, whose collaboration has been instrumental in achieving this global milestone. Together, we're not just advancing technology; we're shaping the future of airport transportation. #automateddriving #autonomousvehicles #airporttransportation #urbanmobility #cleanenergy #autonomousdriving #rotterdaminnovation

Innovations for #electromobility in #publictransport We will participate at mobility move ’24 in #Berlin from Forum für Verkehr und Logistik e.V. You want to know more about new systems and technologies that make the operation of electric buses more energy efficient and reliable? Visit us at Booth 49 / Hall 12. “Electric buses are playing an ever greater role in local public transport, but there are still technical challenges that need to be mastered. With our wide portfolio of products and services at #HÜBNER, we can offer our customers reliable and space-saving vehicle components that improve energy efficiency and extend the range of electric buses,” says our Managing Director Uwe Bittroff. One challenge facing the industry is to develop technologies that allow vehicles to have a more extensive driving range. This is the topic that Dr. Mark Wöhrmann, Managing Director of Hemscheidt Fahrwerktechnik GmbH & Co. KG, will address in the conference program at #mobilitymove ’24. His presentation “Increasing efficiency with hydraulic chassis” will take place on Wednesday, 6 March 2024, at 2:15 p.m. in E-Bus-Forum 2. We are looking forward to meeting you there. Join us. Airport Stuttgart (STR) , March 1st 2024: Today, Skytanking unveiled a groundbreaking achievement at Stuttgart Airport: the world’s first fully electric 40,000-liter aviation refuelling truck at an airport. This milestone vehicle is the result of a collaborative effort between Skytanking, Stuttgart Airport, and Chair for Electrochemical Energy Conversion and Storage Systems (ISEA) / RWTH Aachen University. Speaking at the event were Mr. Winfried Hermann, Minister of the Ministry of Transport of Baden-Württemberg, Mr. Ulrich Heppe, CEO of Stuttgart Airport, and Christoph Lindke, Managing Director Skytanking. Christoph Lindke expressed, "Today signifies an important stride in the ongoing electrification of our global vehicle fleet. This transition not only benefits the environment but also enhances the well-being of our employees by reducing exposure to exhaust emissions and noise. We take immense pride in our role within this pioneering project, with Skytanking leading the charge in employing cutting-edge technology." Skytanking remains steadfast in its commitment to gradually electrify its fleet of up to 500 aircraft refueling vehicles worldwide. Undoubtedly, this endeavor presents a substantial challenge spanning many years. However, the inclusion of larger electrical refuelling trucks weighing over 50 tons, exemplified here at STR, underscores Skytanking's dedicated commitment to sustainability in aviation.” https://lnkd.in/efs-Kf_2 more information in German: https://lnkd.in/eVyXwW9N https://lnkd.in/eFCiig9K #sustainability #emobility #electrification #emissionsreduction on picture from right to left: Ulrich Heppe, Winfried Hermann, Franziska Cusumano, Julia Esterer, Christoph Lindke
