Not directly related to the article, but when Y combinator partners held an event at the University of Tokyo in 2018, GITAI was also invited to demonstrate and pitch. However, at that time, we were told by Y combinator’s partner, “There is absolutely no need for space robots. You have to pivot to a remote monitoring system for self-driving cars,” he strongly told us in front of 200 participants. For a while after that, many people told me that space robots should be stopped. Now, more than five years later, Y combinator has set space, robotics, and defense as key investment areas, and GITAI has drawn on the tremendous market opportunity of building on-orbit services and lunar infrastructure, with no leading startups for remote monitoring systems for automated vehicles.
