What an incredible two days spent at the SingularityU South Africa Summit 2024 listening to the "exponential leaders" shaping the future. It was a privilege to represent #OldMutual21. From robotic dogs to synthetic egg, we had a window into what the new reality is. Disruptive innovation can be both frightening and exciting, but we were reminded that the pace of change now is at the slowest level it will be. Brace yourselves! We need to understand the worlds of nanobots, genetics, neurotechnology connecting machines to human brains, cyborg societies, and uploading of memory. Longevity and the future of mobility are imminent structural changes. But AI dominates. My takeaway quote from David Roberts on AI was: "You all have the best tutor in the world working for you for free and it will change everything." #Oldmutual21 #OldMutual #SingularityU

Beautifully vibrant atmosphere and topics, people of all ages and genders at the United Nations AI for Good Summit hosted by ITU Doreen Bogdan-Martin: AI to cure epilepsy and depressions, Google’s Flood prediction model (thanks for drawing my attention Anton Aschwanden), Fotokite’s drones for rescue operations, Boston Dynamics‘ latest robots, Hypershell's AI-powered exoskeleton, and many many more solutions and discussions about the state of standardisation, regulation and industry development (Seizo ONOE , Philippe Metzger, Sergio Mujica) show the immense potential of AI driven tech. A warm welcome by Alexandre Fasel, Swiss State Secretary of Foreign Affairs, followed by Keynotes of Azeem Azhar Founder of Exponential View, and Tristan Harris Co-Founder & Executive Director of the Center for Humane Technology (CHT), a podium with HRH Princess Beatrice, United Kingdom, Ebetsam Almazrouei, AIE3, Fred Werner , ITU, Xu Chaofeng, Ministry of Industry and IT China, and finally Nicholas Thompson, CEO of The Atlantic, interviewing OpenAI’s Sam Altman, and Juan M. Lavista Ferres, Microsoft, were only the cream of the crop of this top event. Of course, there are also risks associated with artificial intelligence that need to be addressed. But the summit here in Geneva documents the overwhelming benefits that AI and tech can bring to humanity. asut - Schweizerischer Verband der Telekommunikation

#WorldEnvironmentDay2024: Embracing Sustainable AI for a Greener Future On this World Environment Day, we're reminded of the urgent need for sustainability in every sector, including healthcare. 🌱 🤔 Did you know? Annually, 300 million Computerised Tomography (CT) scans are performed globally, of which 180 million are Contrast-Enhanced CTs and alone are responsible for approx. 3 Mega tonnes of CO2 emissions. At NetZeroAICT, a #HorizonEU project supported by the European Commission and UK Research and Innovation, we are pioneering 'Digital Contrast' in CT scans using #AI, eliminating the need for harmful radiocontrast media. Our goal? To reduce CO2 emissions and iodine waste by 30% by 2033, aligning with the #EuropeanGreenDeal. This World Environment Day, let's embrace #GreenAI for a sustainable future in healthcare and become part of #GenerationRestoration. 🌍💚 European Health and Digital Executive Agency (HaDEA) Collective Minds Radiology University of Oxford Z-Visie AMIRES AiSentia Rhino Health GZA Ziekenhuizen Unity Insights Betthera Unilabs Centre Hospitalier Universitaire de Nice (CHU de Nice) University General Hospital of Heraklion "PAGNI" University Clinical Hospital in Opole AZ Sint-Jan Brugge AV University of Leicester University of Glasgow USP - Universidade de São Paulo Universidade Federal Fluminense University of Sydney #WorldEnvironmentDay2024 #SustainableHealthcare #AIInnovation

🐟 How to explore oceans. 🌊 In complete silence. The true marvel in technology lies in its ability to blend, unseen yet impactful. Just like a Belle, autonomous robotic fish, a leap forward in marine exploration. It's a deep-sea envoy, navigating silently with advanced AI. Belle is not just designed to mimic marine life ⬇ ➡ It's engineered to be part of it. Belle gathers DNA, revealing biodiversity and ecosystem health insights. Belle is equipped with cameras to unveiling deep-sea mysteries with clarity. I really, really like: ➡ When innovation respects the boundaries of the natural world. ➡ When technology does not just aim to advance but to integrate. ➡ When the creations of humans swim alongside the creations of nature Would you like to catch that fish? Maybe it will make your 3 wishes come true ;) Belle was created by engineers from ETH Zürich
