On the morning of Tuesday, June 25, the PanelPicker interface begins accepting speaking proposals for next year's South by Southwest (SXSW) in Austin. panelpicker.sxsw.com/about Pro Tip #1 on the PanelPicker speaker proposal process is as follows. DO NOT enter your speaking proposal on June 25. Or even June 26 or June 27 or June 28. Why not? Because you don't gain any advantage in this very competitive process by entering your speaking proposal early. Instead, please take your time before you hit the "Submit Your Proposal" button on the PanelPicker interface. Make sure you have all the wording on your proposal exactly right. Bounce your proposal off of your friends and colleagues to get their input on what they like (and don't like) about your idea. Proofread and re-proofread and re-re-proofread and re-re-re-proofread to make sure there are no errors. Remember that once you hit the "Submit Your Proposal" button for your idea, you can no longer make edits or changes. Just make sure you finalize / submit your proposal before the final PanelPicker entry deadline of Sunday, July 21. Oops! Closing some open loops... Hi there, Scott here with another in a series of 60-second insights about how do we go about solving for the kinds of seemingly "impossible" problems currently confronting Business, Society & the Earth today. So far, I've opened several loops in the videos I've shot. In this series, I've talked about the need to ensure that our solutions are emergent; about the essential nature of a reality-based, positive, measurable and time-specific goal; and about the need to gain a 360-degree view of the ecosystem as a whole, if you're to have any hope of making a change in that ecosystem. So how are all 3 of those related to one another? Well, the goal itself must be emergent, and the only way that truly happens is to use that 360-degree view to ask each of those stakeholder positions, "What are you seeking to cause? For whom or what or where? And how does that need to happen?" Relying on their experience and insight as the vehicle by which the integration of those needs will become apparent as a mutually beneficial goal. Doing so ensures that you have a fully informed understanding of the reality-based goal of the ecosystem you're seeking to change, and that each of those key stakeholders, see themselves in that goal. Otherwise, why would they play? So what does playing together look like? We'll go into that in the next videos. Take care. Bye-Bye.
