a few months ago, I asked if we, as rescue professionals thought the #SFJ qualification was out dated and needed a review, from that I had an interview with #SFJ and invite to express my interest in reviewing the #RTCi qualification, also one for #BA, since then I've heard nothing, but as everything FS related wheels can turn slowly.
Which has now got me on to thinking about how we assure our service delivery of RTC training, many years ago the four Yorkshire services began a period of peer assessment which ran well for a few years, then fizzled out, is this something we should be doing across all our services? Is training delivery assured by the #HMICFRS on there inspections, If so is it detailed enough. Should we use the mechanism of the #NFCC Extrication Framework to asure our training against? Can we if its guidance and not policy? Do you assure by #CPD sessions. Is sending the cutting teams to National and Regional #UKRO challenges part of ensuring your delivery is up to date, Is their learning brought back to service? Do we need a mechanism in place that ensures national best practice is being taught and shared? #SFJ RTCi qualification doesn't have a shelf life, as yet, and hopefully that will change soon, the framework does look at revalidation of qualification and annual CPD, which allows for some assurance that best practice is being taught.
