In chromatography, several key time-related concepts are commonly involved in analysis: retention time, adjusted retention time, dead time, relative retention time, and delay time. 🕛 Retention time: the time elapsed from the injection of a sample to the appearance of the peak apex. 🕝 Dead time: the time required for the mobile phase to pass through the column. 🕔 Adjusted retention time: the extra time a component spends in the stationary phase. 🕢 Relative retention time: a ratio that compares the retention times of different components. 🕙 Delay time: the time required for the solvent mixture to travel from the mixing point to the column inlet. Unclear about some of the time concepts? This article helps you to find out. Read article: https://lnkd.in/dMW3PQ6F

Fill in the blank: Better standards and reagents lead to ______. Better results. Science is all about variables. By reducing them, you enhance your results. When your standards and reagents perform reliably, it increases confidence in your results and enables you to focus on achieving your experimental goals. Reagents and standards could cost from a few dollars to a LOOOOT more! One way to achieve this is by maintaining their cold chain integrity when it is the most critical. Outside of your controlled environment. You ship reagents? Standards? Think “qualified shippers/boxes” and “temperature loggers”. While I can't assist with the former, I've got you covered for the latter.

Utilizing our new Raptor C8 column, we developed a robust, simplified workflow for the two most predominant phosphatidylethanol (PEth) homologues in whole blood, achieving excellent baseline separation, detection limits down to 10 ng/mL, and no carryover. This workflow provides accurate and reproducible results with a simple protein precipitation procedure making it suitable for a low-cost, high-throughput analysis to monitor alcohol consumption. https://lnkd.in/gv6mjveW
