💥 This 10-year, "overnight success" was just acquired for $650,000,000, and is poised to completely disrupt the legal industry. 💥 Here's the fascinating story of Casetext, Part of Thomson Reuters. 🕰 Jake Heller started Casetext 10 years ago as a social network for lawyers. Multiple pivots along the way brought him and his company to the bleeding edge of building AI tools to make attorneys better and more efficient. On the latest episode of my podcast, we discussed this journey and how the company struggled to find product-market fit in the early days. Jake is a proponent of Marc Andreeson's definition of PMF — having lived through times when they thought they had it, as well as finally achieving it post-Chat-GPT. Looking back now, he can say that clearly, the previous signs of PMF were more wishful thinking than actual #productmarketfit. He also emphasizes the lesson for founders that the journey is what positions you for success when the breakout happens. Without those years of false starts, Jake believes that they wouldn't have been as well-positioned to take advantage of the breakthroughs in AI when the tech finally caught up to the vision. We also talked about: 💰 The acquisition process 🚶♂️ The importance of enjoying the journey 💼 The future of the legal profession and how AI is changing it 🤑 A world where attorneys can charge $15,000 an hour (and clients will be happy to pay it). I absolutely loved this conversation and I'm sure you will too. It was worth the wait. 😇 ********** 🎧 You can find the full episode at pmfpod.com, on YouTube, or wherever you get your #podcasts. ❓ What are your thoughts on lawyers using AI? Do you think that it will mean more frivolous suits or fewer? If you're an attorney, I'd love to hear how you've been using Casetext, Chat-GPT, or other AI tools. 👇 #artificialintelligence #legaltech #techinnovation #podcast

Are you prepared for the AI revolution in the legal industry? Elliot Leibu, co-founder of The Legal Ops Podcast, (one of my favorite/go-to podcasts, btw) has just launched a training course called "Artificial intelligence for legal teams". As the name suggests, it's focused on AI for legal: what it is, how it works and the risks it entails (and how to manage them). It also includes demos of the AI functionality in some of today's leading legal technology products, including vLex, Evisort, Checkbox and more. Interested to learn more? An essential listen for anyone interested in automation, or simply those who are fans of true legal tech veteran Catherine Bamford at BamLegal, of which there are many! Great episode from Legal Design Podcast 🎧 "Document automation is just one small piece of any legal transaction...when people are choosing which document automation software to buy, they really should think about their requirements strongly. If workflow is something you'll focus on a lot, it eliminates many softwares and brings others to the top." 👋 https://lnkd.in/eq_75EPE #documentautomation #workflowautomation #legalprocessautomation #legaltech

4moReally great podcast as usual, when you mentioned about use cases failing with earlier models - have you got any examples, and more interestingly, what was your method for deciding how/when to re-evaluate?
