Call for collaborations! Thankfully, sample preparation for cryoelectron microscopy is rapidly improving. Gone are the days of guessing your sample condition before plunging along with burned fingers from liquid ethane (thank goodness!). However, there is still more work toward obtaining consistent conditions that reduce time on instruments and improve molecular resolution. Defining and determining key parameters in sample preparation, including sample stability in varying buffer conditions like salt, pH, additives, detergents, and membrane mimetics for those pesky membrane proteins, will drive further improvement in consistent cryo-EM resolution. Are you a cryo-EM aficionado? Does your company provide sample preparation services or technologies for the cryo-EM field? If so, let's collaborate to combine the analysis capabilities that biologics researchers trust in the Prometheus Panta, with cryo-EM sample preparation.
