Energyworker | Self Awareness and Inner Journey Guide. Helping people make sense of themselves and be more present, clear, resilient, and create for themselves an inner environment to be their best self.
Is a therapist, coach or practitioner really helping another person work through trauma when that help is based on systems and schematics of how things should be (done) and what they think healthy relating is? I actually don’t think so. It may actually be a form of gaslighting and retraumatisation. I believe it’s the practitioners ability to stay present with the pain or struggle without judgement - compassionate and in neutrality - that helps the client to process what they need to process and a new healthier way emerges. How do you think or feel?

Perception management can shape how others see us, but is it always manipulation? Managing perceptions isn't inherently bad—it's about the why and the how. The term 'manipulation' often carries a negative stigma, but its impact depends on the intention. - #revolvingchange #lastingmeasurablechange #professionaldevelopment #careerdevelopment #careergrowth #perceptionmanagement #LeadershipEthics #ManagingPerceptions

As therapists, the type of emotion we are working with is the key to helping our clients get to the bottom of what is truly troubling them, and then to transforming places of stuckness and pain that underlie symptoms and patterns of avoidance. https://lnkd.in/gWJmu_EY

It's not the absence of harm that makes a relationship "healthy". It's our capacity to recognize that we are capable of harm, and our ability to engage in conscious repair where there is rupture. The same thing applies to researchers and trauma informed practitioners. We do not build healthy and trusting relationships through fear. While we aim to minimize the occurrence of harm, it is impossible to avoid it entirely. I think we ought to use some of that energy we put towards avoidance, into learning how to own our impact, swallow the consequence of our actions, and decenter our feelings when we offer and practice repair. #TraumaInformedResearch #RelationalDesign #ResearchEthics

“I think we ought to use some of that energy we put towards avoidance, into learning how to own our impact, swallow the consequence of our actions, and decenter our feelings when we offer and practice repair.” I would like to share with you two things: 💡💡In the last 2 weeks I have been confronted by my harmful behaviours and thinking. It has sparked the richest self reflection I have experienced in years. I am about to publish a blog journaling this process. Why am I sharing this on LinkedIn? Because it is centred in my professional life. It is about my practice as a researcher and a designer and how I collaborate with other humans in what we are trying to create. 📖 We are already teaching about this in Inclusive Research workshops. We have a section titled “we need to get used to being uncomfortable“. It’s hard to articulate, it’s hard to tie up in a neat, intellectual bow. Yet, I know all of our workshop participants will have this experience working with people with disabilities. I want them to understand that it is to be expected, and there are ways that are appropriate and okay to plan for them and to respond to them when they happen. Sabrina Meherally is an amazing educator and I’m looking forward to learning more from her. #InclusiveResearch #InclusiveDesign #Disability #Accessibility #TraumaInformedResearch #ResearchOperations #UX #HCD #ServiceDesign #DesignJustice #DecolonisingDesign #DecolonisingResearch
