An Introduction to Migration and Velocity Model Building will include an overview of different #migration schemes and cover the motivations for building detailed #velocity models, and briefly discuss the inherent limitations on our ability to build a detailed model. Current-day practice will be covered, exemplified via many case-studies, and we will briefly discuss the less well known and emerging techniques. The approach will mostly be non-mathematical, and will rather try to concentrate on an intuitive understanding of the principles, and demonstrate them via case histories. The course is designed to be followed by anyone with a broad #geoscience background: no specific detailed foreknowledge is required, although a familiarity with geophysical terminology will be useful. AVO/AVA Analysis In comparison with the “bright spot” method, which is performed on seismic sections, AVO analysis is derived using migrated CDP gathers and calculated attributes, which assumes the presence of high-quality, good Signal-to-Noise, data. Before starting the analysis, additional processing is carried out in order to increase the resolution and weaken coherent and incoherent noise. The basis for the AVO anomaly analysis, and their interpretation, is the comparison of AVO attributes (Normal Incidence Reflectivity, Gradient, Fluid Factor, Vp/Vs, etc.) and their statistical analysis when crossplot against one another. Hydrocarbon prediction is carried out by identifying the background trend and zones distributed away from this background trend, associated with gas-saturated reservoirs, on the crossplot. These zones are then back-projected and highlighted on to the attribute sections (surfaces). #seismicprocessing #seismicdata #oilandgas #geophysics #upstream #oil #gas #geology #oilandgas #dataanalysis #seismic #2Dseismic #3Dseismic #interpretation #seismicinterpretation

𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵-𝗧𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 & 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵-𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗲𝘀 𝗯𝘆 𝗚𝗲𝗼𝘃𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮 In an era where natural resources are increasingly scarce, the demand for accurate geophysical data in extreme environments is more pressing than ever. Geovista, a pioneer in downhole geophysical technology, meets this challenge head-on. Our high-temperature probes, withstanding temperatures up to 𝟭𝟮𝟱°𝗖, are perfectly suited for geothermal exploration, deep boreholes, and regions with significant thermal variations. Additionally, our high-pressure tools, rated to 𝟯𝟱𝟬 𝗕𝗔𝗥, provide access to the depths exceeding the industry limit of 2,000 meters. Geovista is at the forefront of the industry demands, ensuring that the scarcity of resources is never constrained by the availability of geophysical data. #Geovista #Innovation #Geophysics #HTHP
