The Synergy Group gnomes have been making their way through Canberra as they travel to Floriade just in time for spring. Their first stop is the Australian War Memorial! Horace the gnome had the opportunity to visit the Australian War Memorial which represents Australia's remembrance of Australian veterans who have served and given their lives for our great nation. Horace believes in being "Honest to Self and All, at Synergy Group, honesty and integrity are at the heart of everything we do. The Australian War Memorial is a place of deep reflection and tribute to veterans willing to make the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Synergy Group has been a proud supporter of the veteran community for many years, through our support of charity organisations such as Soldier On Australia who have set out to make the transition from service to civilian life easier for veterans exiting their life in uniform. If you'd like to support an outstanding organisation like Soldier On Australia, please visit their website and consider donating: https://loom.ly/ft98d1Y #SynergyGroup #Floriade2024 #Floriade #VisitCBR #EventsCanberra #Community #ItsPersonal #ActAsOne #PlayWithImpact Events ACT

This weekend I saw a lot businesses posting "Happy Memorial Day!" content. "Come out to Rudy's Bar and celebrate the long holiday weekend with us, we're selling $5 orange crushes all day long!" Memorial Day is to remember the hundreds of thousands of military members who gave the ultimate sacrifice and never came home to their families. Asking people to come to your restaurant to "celebrate the holiday" feels really wrong for Memorial Day. Are we forgetting what it's really about? Here are a few ways you can post on social or email your customers about Memorial Day that honors the military members and their families: 1. Share a link to an organization that helps families of fallen soldiers asking for donations, like the Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation 2. Donate 10% of your proceeds on Memorial Day to a reputable organization like the Wounded Warrior Project 3. Highlight a veteran who works at your company and thank them for their service 4. Offer a 20% discount to all active military members to thank them for their service 5. Be like Born Primitive (pictured below) and don't ask anything of your customers, simply post about Memorial Day in a way that honors the fallen. They also shared a really great video on their Instagram and Facebook pages to remind everyone of the true meaning of Memorial Day. Please take a moment to watch it, I'll link it in the comments. #MemorialDay #Military #HonorTheFallen

Unemployment is not comfortable for anyone - it can bring financial uncertainty, pressure on relationships, stress related health issues and risk of housing issues. Military personnel commit a large portion of their time, energy and years of commitment to military service. Often undertaking roles that are like no other, are involved in situations that many can't even start to comprehend and suffer with injuries and illness that other areas of life would not bring. This is why it is important that Veterans who have given so much already have the support and guidance needed to get them into secure employment. With help and assistance to get them on track to a brighter future. https://lnkd.in/ebUxyk-k To donate- Text VETERANS to 70470 to donate £10 Or VETERANS20 to donate £20 Texts cost the chosen donation amount plus one standard network rate message

Join the #Day4Defenders initiative and come to work on October 1st to support our defenders! The goal of the initiative is to raise additional funds for the Defense Forces of Ukraine. 📌 How does it work? On October 1st, Defender of Ukraine Day, invite your employees to come to work, and donate all the earned money to the Defense Forces of Ukraine. If October 1st is a working day in your company, the "1991" and "Where Hope Lives" funds invite you to donate your daily revenue/gross profit (depending on your capabilities) to the military. This is the best way to say a warm "thank you" to our soldiers. The organizers will use the raised funds to purchase off-road vehicles for the military. All the details of the initiative are available on the fund's page. 12 companies have already joined #Day4Defenders - you can easily become the next one! 📌 How to get your company involved? Contact @1991_fund (Instagram), Благодійний Фонд 1991 / 1991 Charity Fund (Fb) or 1991 Charity Fund (Linkedin) More companies - more donations - more help for our military!

Saying you're Veteran Friendly as an employer is about more than just hiring a few veterans for street credit. It's recognizing their exceptional skills that align with your needs. But is that enough? I believe companies should support military/veteran non-profits, too! If you're not matching donations to mil-vet nonprofits made by your employees within your corporate matching program, are you truly supporting military/veterans or just your organizational needs with skilled military/veteran talent? Something to think about. Do more. Be better. Match. #hvvtf #hiringveterans #milvetnonprofitgiving #supportourtroops #veteranfriendly #giveback

Jujitsu can offer significant mental health benefits for veterans and first responders, individuals often exposed to high-stress situations and traumatic events. This martial art focuses on self-defense and physical control, but its benefits extend far beyond the physical realm. Practicing Jujitsu requires mindfulness, concentration, and the ability to be present in the moment, which can help mitigate symptoms of PTSD, anxiety, and depression. The discipline and structure found in Jujitsu training provide a sense of routine and purpose, fostering a positive mental state. Additionally, the supportive community aspect of Jujitsu dojos offers a sense of belonging and camaraderie, helping veterans and first responders combat feelings of isolation. By engaging both body and mind, Jujitsu can act as a powerful tool for improving overall mental health and resilience, aiding in the transition to civilian life or coping with the pressures of first responder roles.

🌟 Honoring the Unseen Heroes: The Legacy of Military Children 🌟 These young heroes grow up in a world that's constantly changing, with challenges that many of us can only imagine. Yet, their strength, adaptability, and sense of duty are nothing short of inspiring. Research and anecdotes alike tell us that children of military personnel are significantly more likely to follow in their parents' footsteps and serve their country. This isn't merely a coincidence; it's the result of a unique upbringing that instills values such as loyalty, honor, and a profound sense of service from a very young age. Military children witness firsthand the sacrifices made for national security and are imbued with a deep understanding of what it means to commit to a cause greater than oneself. By supporting USA Cares, you can help keep these military-connected children safe remain safe and with their families. Join us in changes lives by donating today.
