𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝗶𝗿 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗹 𝗶𝗻 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗢𝗿𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘀 With CCAT Joint Venture and Pelli Clarke & Partners as our “co-pilots”, we contributed to the development of the North Terminal of Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport, which opened its doors in November 2019. This state-of-the-art facility replaced the old 1959-era terminal, becoming a new architectural icon for the city. The new terminal includes 35 gates spread across three concourses, a 2,000-space parking garage, and a central utility plant. Our contributions focused on advanced engineering services, with a special emphasis on energy efficiency. We implemented a stratification-type ventilation variable-air-volume (VAV) system and radiant floor heating and cooling to ensure optimal thermal comfort while significantly reducing energy usage. Additionally, our design featured dedicated outside air units with energy wheels and air-side economizers to maximize energy savings and reduce costs. These innovative solutions enhance passenger comfort and contribute to the airport's role as a regional economic catalyst. Track buckling is a major concern for railway operators, derailing trains and causing line closures. Getzner - engineering a quiet future under sleeper pads can greatly increase the lateral track resistance by enabling the ballast stones to embed into the USP which grips and holds the sleeper in place.
