This week, #NATO Allied Command Transformation (#ACT) hosted the ICD&E 24 Conference in Vilnius, Lithuania, bringing together representatives from 27 nations across the military, industry, academia, and international organizations. This initiative is a prime example of how diverse perspectives can come together to develop concepts that synchronize activities between military and non-military stakeholders in the context of Multi-Domain Operations. The success of this conference underscores the importance of fostering interaction between various sectors to achieve shared security goals. Major General Devin Pepper and his team have showcased exceptional leadership in creating a platform where innovation meets security, allowing non-military contributors to play a crucial role in enhancing information exchange, driving rapid adaptation, and promoting sustainability. This collaborative #ecosystem, which brings together government agencies, academia, industry, and international organizations, is exactly what is needed in the #Sahel region. The #Sahel faces complex challenges that go beyond military solutions—challenges that include #disinformation, #economic instability, and #governance issues. Establishing a similar multi-stakeholder approach in the #Sahel could strengthen #resilience, improve #coordination, and foster #sustainable solutions to regional #security and development. The involvement of non-military actors is vital for addressing these issues, just as it is in NATO’s Multi-Domain Operations framework. We need to build an #ecosystem in the Sahel that promotes the exchange of #knowledge, #collaboration, and joint #initiatives, driving us toward a more secure and stable region.
