Several members of the TWO Services team will be participating in St Luke’s Loop 2024 on Sunday 6th October. Starting from St Luke’s Hospice in Basildon, this 3 hour, 7.3 mile guided walk will take us through the grasslands and woodlands of Langdon Hills Country Park in the Essex countryside. We are keen to raise as much money as possible for the charity, which delivers incredible support to local residents in Basildon and Thurrock who are living with a life limiting condition. The team at St. Luke's Hospice Basildon & Thurrock have proved to be an invaluable support for our directors’ father and TWO’s founder, Alan Osborn – so this charity holds a special and very personal place in all our hearts. Please donate if you can – and wish us luck! https://lnkd.in/eAr7pA38

The Oval Partnership are once again taking part in the Samworth Charity Challenge on 18th May 2024 to raise funds for Bluebell Wood Childrens Hospice. It's an exhilarating & gruelling adventure race for teams of four, where you are required to plan and navigate your way around the course in order to collect points. The event is held every 2 years and will see our team pushed to the limits on a triathalon course which includes Mountain, Canoe & Cycle stages with all being approximately 3 hours duration and will be held near Ambleside in the Lake District. That sounds easy right? Wrong! this isn't a walk in the park. There are 2 difficulties to choose from, Tough and Elite and we know from past experience they are not for the faint hearted. But the charity that we support makes this challenge worthwhile. Bluebell Wood Childrens Hospice help children with end of life care and provide bereavement support to their families through what is such a challenging period to make what time they have left special. Please follow this link to donate: https://lnkd.in/egw6pGYv Every donation will help them no matter how big or small. Thank you so much for your donations from all of us at The Oval Partnership 😊. Some of you may know that this weekend is Worcester Half Marathon. As part of SJL Insurance Services ongoing charity commitment a few of our guys are running to raise money for Acorns Children's Hospice. Which I'm sure if you are aware of the work that they do is a really important cause that raises money for children with complex medical needs. Currently Acorns Children's Hospice is facing the unimaginable prospect of turning away a child in need for the first time in their history this is due to the Government considering scrapping The Children's Hospice Grant which is vital for charities like Acorns to continue providing the care for families that is so crucial. The current cost of running a hospice comes in at over £10,000 a day which I'm sure you would agree is a staggering fee that is only made possible by donations. So if you were considering donating in the past now is the time as your money could be life changing for a family in need. Oliver Wakefield Cert CII & Culum Plane are the two guys out of the new business team that are picking up the baton this year. (Even more impressive is that Ollie has just welcomed two beautiful little twin girls into the world so his training has had to revolve around no sleep and a very hectic couple of weeks.) Any donation that you can make would be gratefully received. https://lnkd.in/exsZ9TbA https://lnkd.in/egCv_7W8 #charity #acorns #insurance #donations

🌟 Advocating for Change: Addressing the Hospice Funding Crisis 🌟 Recently, BBC News North West shed light on the critical hospice funding crisis, underscoring the urgent need for collective action. As our nation grapples with this challenge, it becomes evident that the focus must shift towards innovative solutions and community-driven initiatives to bridge the financial gaps. Wigan & Leigh Hospice insightful post, gives us just one example of the sizable percentage of everyday costs which now are even more reliant on community fundraising initiatives to continue providing these essential care services across the nation. In the wake of this pressing issue, Rosterfy’s latest white paper, 'How Volunteer Managers and Fundraising Teams can work together to meet fundraising targets' provides a roadmap for collaboration that could be instrumental in overcoming the funding shortfall. Now, more than ever, the spotlight is on community fundraising as a powerful tool to achieve the necessary funds for hospice support on a national scale. The strength of our communities lies in unity, and by coming together, we can make a tangible difference in the lives of those in need. Let's approach this challenge with empathy and sensitivity, recognizing that every contribution, big or small, plays a vital role in securing the necessary aid for hospices across the country. By embracing these insights, we can empower volunteer managers and fundraising teams to work seamlessly, amplifying our impact and ensuring that hospices receive the funding they desperately require. Together, let's turn our thoughts into action, fostering a culture of giving and support. Share your ideas, engage with local initiatives, and let's create a wave of change that uplifts the hospice community nationwide. 🌈🤝 #HospiceSupport #CommunityFundraising #RosterfyInAction #TogetherWeCan https://lnkd.in/e9zfKiit
On Wednesday, Annabel Tiffin discussed the wider hospice funding crisis on BBC News North West Tonight. For anyone who is not aware, like other hospices, Wigan & Leigh Hospice is a charity and only one third of our costs are funded, the rest we must raise through community fundraising, our shops and regular giving. It currently costs £18,500 a day to run the hospice and £12,000 of that must be raised with support from our local community. Please watch the full piece below 🎥

Today is the International Day of Charity – a fantastic opportunity to recognise the amazing work carried out by charitable organisations around the world, and to make a donation if you can. We know there are lots of charities to choose from, but here’s why we’d love you to choose RAPAID: 👉 A casualty can tragically bleed to death within just three to five minutes, often before the emergency services have time to arrive. By equipping cabs with life-saving bandages, RAPAID empowers ordinary people to flag down the vital resources they need to #stopthebleed within those first, critical minutes following an injury. 👉 RAPAID's focus is on stopping the bleed. Your funding helps us extend our mission far and wide, ensuring that emergency bandage kits are accessible in a variety of public places – from schools and taxis to workplaces and other venues. By supporting RAPAID, you're contributing to building a resilient community where people are equipped to help each other in times of crisis. Together, we’re creating a safer UK, one kit at a time. Well, that was fun..! I decided to test an upcoming activation concept for Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chicagoland & Northwest Indiana by running a mini version myself. I’m happy to reconfirm that peer-to-peer fundraising is alive and well! 🎉 And no… it does not need to be tied to an event or special occasion. In a little over 24 hours, I exceeded my goal - raising $1,500+ from 24 donors. Here's what worked: ✅ Great Tech: A seamless and straightforward platform and donation process thanks to my BFF Fundraise Up. ✅ Individual Donor Recognition: Every single contribution was celebrated - personally and publicly! ✅ Regular Updates: I kept the momentum going with live progress shares. ✅ Personalization & Storytelling: Every message came straight from me, with personal anecdotes wherever possible. ✅ Mission Tie-In: I made it clear why donations were so impactful at this specific moment in time. ✅ Multichannel Communication: I reached out to my community through texts, social media, and email. What did I miss? Anything you’d add to ensure the official launch of this campaign is a success? #peertopeer #p2pfundraising #fundraising #rmhc #keepingfamiliesclose
We made it! The first day of Spring 🌸 As the days get warmer, the need for support at Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chicagoland & Northwest Indiana grows. Summer is our busiest time of year as many families use the break to travel for treatments and surgeries. Mike McDonald and I have an exciting summer ahead welcoming another McDonald boy to our fam! 💙 As you look forward to relaxing days and family vacations, please don't forget those families who will be spending their summer in hospital rooms. These next few weeks are a critical time to rally the resources needed to help RMHC-CNI be fully prepared to support these families. I've set up a personal fundraiser to pay it forward and ensure we are able to provide a home away from home for everyone who needs it. Help me reach my goal:
