If you are a guy 40+ who has not had luck reaching your health and fitness goals here are four items you should look for in a fitness program: 1) You need to have a program designed for guys over 40, our bodies have changed. You can’t train like your in your 20’s anymore. 2) The focus of your training should be on how you feel and move. It doesn’t mean you’re training like a 90-year-old, it means you want more strength and control through all the movements you want to do in Life, sports, and activities. 3) You’re going to have to train more components. Almost every guy I’ve screened needs mobility work and it’s way more important than you think. 4) Since you’re busy, and you have more components you need to Work on, you want your training to be very efficient & effective for max return on investment. I advise full body Strength workouts, alternating Exercises to keep your heart rate up using an interval timer. When most people think of strength training I believe they think of bodybuilder workouts, where are you train body parts during workouts (chest day, back day, leg day, etc.). I don’t believe this is the most efficient and effective way to train if you are a busy adult. If you like this kind of training, keep doing it. It’s just very inefficient. You can gain just as much strength and muscle as body part workouts in less time! I used to train that way and so did many of my previous clients, now that they have seen the light, no one will go back! Most fitness programs are not designed for adults over 40, leading to failure in reaching health and fitness goals.
