I am pleased to announce that I have successfully completed my summer internship with Arabcontractors . This practical experience in architecture has been incredibly enriching, and I am proud to receive a grade of “Very Good” for my performance. During my training period, I learned: •Carpentry, how to make wrenches, and most architectural things, theoretically and practically. •Buildings and how to build them correctly, theoretically and practically. •Paints and how to finish walls and shells. •Also, reinforced steel and everything related to it, and how to calculate the reinforcement needed for the work. They gave us a lot of encouragement and care and were keen enough to teach us all they know about the construction in whole, starting with the foundations of the stairs , moving on to the interior finishing and false ceiling of the concourse level, leading to the interior and exterior finishing . #Internship #Architecture #ProfessionalGrowth #ArabContractors #EngineeringSkills #Achievement #Engineering #SummerInternship #Engineering #ConstructionInternship

When I started my internship at James Cubitt Architects, I was both excited and unsure of what to expect. As a student navigating the challenges of architecture school, I had so many questions about what the real world of architecture would be like. But this experience quickly reminded me why I fell in love with this field in the first place. At JCA, I got to dive into all sorts of architectural work—from concept design and site visits to modeling and putting together presentation and construction drawings. Every day brought its own set of challenges, but with them came so many chances to learn and grow. My skills—both technical and soft—leveled up in ways I didn’t even see coming. Beyond all the technical stuff, I learned the true value of communication, time management, and the behind-the-scenes processes that make the design and construction world tick. It’s not always the glamorous side of architecture, but it’s just as important. One of the highlights for me was seeing first-hand how collaboration works across different disciplines—architecture, structural engineering, mechanical systems, and more. Watching these pieces come together to create something cohesive gave me a whole new appreciation for teamwork in this field. It also made me realize just how much the educational system skips over when it comes to that side of things. Another was the opportunity to learn directly from a BIM expert in my supervisor Otitooluwa Tubi. this opened me up to so many parts of architecture I had not paid much attention to previously. This internship wasn’t just about building skills—it reminded me why I’m passionate about architecture in the first place. It gave me a clearer sense of what’s possible and left me even more motivated to keep pushing myself. As I get closer to wrapping up my BTech in Architecture, I feel excited about what’s next and ready to keep learning. Big shoutout to the JCA team for all the mentorship and support during this journey. To anyone just starting out in architecture: soak up every opportunity to learn, because you never know where those experiences will take you. Here’s to designing the future—one project at a time! 👏

Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today." - Malcolm X Currently, I'm diving deep into an incredible interior design internship, and I can't recommend it enough! This experience is a game-changer, even before graduating college. From 3D modeling and rendering to AutoCAD elevations, the hands-on learning is immense. Creating client presentations using PowerPoint is a mix of stress and creativity—like assembling IKEA furniture without instructions! The amount I'm learning in a short period is astounding. Not to mention, the valuable connections I'm making with industry professionals. It's about gaining real-world experience that textbooks can't teach. The skills and knowledge you acquire will boost your studies and your resume. Plus, you get a sneak peek into your future career. So, if you're studying interior design, get that internship! You'll thank yourself later, and who knows, you might even learn to love AutoCAD. #InteriorDesign #Internship #StudentLife #CareerGrowth #LearningByDoing #Network

5 Things Every Architecture Intern Should Focus on to Succeed 💻 🖱️ 📐 📏 (PART 1) Starting your journey in architecture can be both exciting and overwhelming. But here’s the truth—internships are the best time to build a strong foundation for a successful career. Here are five actionable tips I wish I knew as an intern that can help you get ahead: ✨Master the Basics: Before diving into complex designs, make sure you’re rock-solid on the basics—construction drawing, spatial planning, and material understanding. These are the building blocks that will guide your future work. ✨Be Curious and Ask Questions: Don’t be afraid to ask questions! Whether it’s about a design detail, construction technique, or software trick, asking is how you learn. No one expects you to know everything, and curiosity shows initiative. ✨Get Hands-On with Software: Take every opportunity to sharpen your software skills. Familiarize yourself with tools like Revit, AutoCAD, and Adobe Suite. The more proficient you are, the more valuable you become on any project team. ✨Learn from the Field: Go on site visits as much as possible. Understanding how your drawings translate into real-world construction is crucial. What looks good on paper might have practical challenges in execution—this insight is invaluable. ✨Build Relationships: Network with everyone—your peers, mentors, engineers, and even contractors. Architecture is a collaborative field, and building strong relationships will open doors and create opportunities for the future. Remember, the goal is to absorb as much as possible during your internship. Stay humble, stay eager, and focus on learning. Every experience, no matter how small, contributes to your growth as an architect🤩. Have you got any other tips for aspiring architects? Drop them in the comments! 💬👇 Let’s learn from each other. 📸 - Young Debby as an Intern - 2016* #ArchitectureTips #YoungArchitects #CareerAdvice #InternshipSuccess #ContentLeadership #ArchitectureCommunity
