At TAG, we strive to pollinate lessons learned and emerging best practice across our project portfolios – both for continual improvement in each project, and to contribute to the wider body of knowledge on fragile state development. TAG Governance and Social Development (G&SD) team members Joanna Mackie and Pallu Modi recently returned from a highly productive trip to Mozambique, and are now cascading learning into other G&SD projects in Africa, Latin America and the Middle East.

International Development Coordinator, Governance and Social Development at TAG International

Delighted to have visited Maputo this month to continue my work as a coordinator on the Peace and Stability Mozambique Programme. Working on this programme is a privilege, as it allows me to learn from colleagues who work directly with communities in Cabo Delgado and continue to make tangible impacts in the region and continue to resonate hope for the future of the nation. Prior to joining the programme, I knew very little about the complex nature of the conflict in the North as it is widely underreported but am grateful to have been able to grow my understanding of the context as well as the vast potential for Mozambique. Over the next few weeks, I will write up my thoughts on the economic opportunities within of Mozambique and some of the structural barriers that are prominent across the Peace and Stability Programme.
