I'm thrilled to share a recent development that beautifully combines my professional network with none other than rescue cats! 😻 I reconnected with Zach Graumann, who has launched an incredible company, Samarity. ✨ Always eager to support initiatives that make a difference, I introduced Zach to Amanda McQuade, a driving force behind KittyKind, an organization dedicated to the well-being of our feline friends. 🫶THEY ARE THE REASON🫶 Many of you are aware of just how hard it is to keep up in rescue right now. We are full to the brim and are quite honestly struggling to keep up. It’s gotten so bad that everyone is so full that we cannot take owner surrenders. So the result of this is these precious lives being turned out into the cold to fend for themselves. My heart breaks when I come to do the final checks and tuck everyone into bed for the night. They just want so badly to be part of a family. Some are in grief for not knowing what they did wrong to be tossed aside. I welcome each and every one of these sweet souls into my home, into my family as much as possible so they can know they are safe. We walk them everyday so they can learn the big world isn’t so scary. And most of all we show them love so they can know all humans aren’t so bad. They are the reason I keep doing the work I do. 5% to Charity I care about what you care about, and I'm putting my money where your heart is! I'm donating 5% of every commission to each client's favorite charity. Showcasing Ariel and James's Choice - PAWS Ariel and James and I have many mutual friends through my partner's work. We've vacationed together and they've talked about buying a home for a while. We set up exploration for about a year and they checked out many areas and types of homes. They were finally ready to buy a few months ago and we started touring. We found a great house in Monroe which they love! When I asked them which charity they would like me support they chose PAWS, a non-profit charity located in Snohomish County. PAWS is people helping cats, dogs and wild animals go home and thrive – whether home is the family room or the forest. They do this by rehabilitating orphaned and injured wildlife, sheltering and adopting homeless cats and dogs, and educating the community to inspire compassionate action for animals. Abandoned, overlooked, or surrendered due to circumstances beyond their control, senior dogs often find themselves in need of a second chance. At Rescue City, we refuse to let age be a barrier and open our arms to dogs of all ages. We commit to saving senior dogs from many of our partner shelters or owner surrenders and placing them into homes where they will know endless love and comfort. This year alone, we welcomed 40 senior dogs into our care. But here is our harsh reality: the expenses for caring for senior dogs' quickly pile up from routine check-ups to emergency visits, medications, and fostering supplies. Many of the senior dogs in our care need life saving surgeries, dental procedures and ongoing medication. This year, caring for our 40 senior dogs cost over $35,000 in medical bills alone. Donations to our Senior Dog Fund will also help cover the adoption fees for seniors facing financial hardships who are looking to adopt a furry senior pet. Our goal with our end-of-year ask is to grow both our medical funds for our older dogs and aid seniors yearning to adopt.
