🌍 Reflecting on World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day Today, as we observe 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐑𝐞𝐝 𝐂𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐑𝐞𝐝 𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐃𝐚𝐲, I'm struck by the incredible dedication of these organizations. Their work—bringing aid to those in need, anywhere in the world, at any time—is truly inspiring. It’s a powerful reminder of how much we can accomplish when we come together for a common cause. In our business sphere, we have an enormous potential to contribute. At Talent Potential Consulting, we've been exploring meaningful ways to partner with humanitarian groups. These partnerships aren’t just about writing checks; they're about integrating the spirit of global community into our daily operations. Whether it’s organizing volunteer days, supporting our teams in community engagement with Insppy, or ensuring our business practices promote sustainability and ethical standards, we’re committed to doing our part. Resilient cities has now reached Ville de Clermont-Ferrand! 🌟 Following the inspiring sessions in Grenoble, where passionate local actors delved into innovative strategies, the Resilient Cities journey is now taking over Clermont-Ferrand. 🏙️ With the active participation of 8 local actors, we embarked on a journey of self-reflection, questioning biases, and empathizing with newcomers. Our discussions, fueled by understanding the complexities of intersectionality—including migrant experiences, and the challenges faced by women and mothers—strengthened our commitment to unity in the community. Let's keep the momentum going as Resilient Cities works towards establishing a formal structure for migrant participation in Clermont-Ferrand. 🌍 Helay Ra Ismail Alkhateeb Clara Déat Anaïs Bodino #ResilientCities #CommunityUnity

Last Friday, Heart of the Region hosted an insightful #AtTheTable discussion on behalf of the Waterloo Region Community Foundation, focusing on #socialinfrastructure. We explored what #SocialInfrastructure means through the lens of a new Canadian. Here are some key takeaways: Voice and Visibility: Everyone deserves to speak their truth and be genuinely heard. Communities thrive when we focus on belonging rather than merely fitting in. Engagement and Connection: Knowing our neighbours and staying engaged in our community through groups, entertainment, and volunteering is essential. It's about creating meaningful connections that strengthen our social fabric. Opportunities for All: Provide opportunities for civic participation and create safe spaces for open dialogue. Offer feedback channels where everyone’s voice can contribute to community development. Cultural Exchange: Share local history and customs, ensuring newcomers feel included and informed. Representation matters, and it must be authentic, not performative. Support Networks: Introduce mentorship and professional networks to guide new Canadians in their personal and professional journeys. Ongoing Conversation: Keep the conversation going! Continuous dialogue is key to fostering understanding and inclusivity. #africanwomensallianceofwaterlooregion Immigration Partnership, Region of Waterloo #WeCareCentre LiftOff by CCAWR Reception House Waterloo Region #kwmulticulturalcentre KAY VALLEY #wrps #mikemorris Wafa Agha #CommunityEngagement #Inclusivity #NewCanadians #SocialInfrastructure #Belonging #CivicParticipation #Mentorship #Diversity #RepresentationMatters

Public spaces play a crucial role in our societies, fostering social interaction, community building, and learning to live with difference. They serve as stages for political and social protest, encouraging democracy and equality. Ultimately, these spaces contribute to the flourishing of people and their communities. Our ability to access these benefits of sociability depends heavily on shared spaces, where encounters with diverse individuals transform "others" into recognized and engaged individuals. Picture: From Paris, the ecologically sensitive Jardins d’Eole emerged from a brownfield site due to the activism of the surrounding West African and Maghrebi neighbors. A good read: Why Public Space Matters https://lnkd.in/gUXW6Tv8 #publicspace #publicrealm #landscaping #equity #sharedspace
