Why you should be open minded and flexible when looking at a candidate's "career gaps" 🤔. Resume gaps are often seen as a red flag and that a candidate can’t hold a job down. But not all gaps on a resume are negative. Breaks due to family reasons (such as parenting or caring responsibilities) can positively influence a candidate’s organisational skills. Other breaks like travel can bring a global perspective, and deciding to study can generate new ideas and knowledge. Career breaks often lead to perspective and clarity around what a person wants to do. Ultimately, if taken for the right reason, a career break can add to a candidate’s experience and that’s part of our role as a recruiter to dig into. Get comfortable with career breaks, there not all bad! 👏🏻 #careergrowth #careeradvancement #careerchange

Principal Recruiter - Providing Civil and Geotechnical Engineers with Better Opportunities in the US
Why Candidates Should Listen to Recruiters: Unlocking Hidden Opportunities "I'm good where I am at." Hmm I hear this often but...you might be missing a great opportunity! Candidates should listen to a recruiter as they often don't realize how much better a new position could be in terms of salary, career growth, and job satisfaction. Staying comfortable in a current role can lead to missed opportunities! Listening to a recruiter doesn't mean committing to a job change immediately. It's about keeping an open mind and considering all possibilities. Even if a candidate feels satisfied with their current position, exploring new opportunities can provide perspective on their market value and highlight potential areas for growth that they hadn't considered before. #career #careeropportunity #careergrowth

Why is it so challenging to find a job in 2024? 🤔 Sadly the job market has changed considerably. After 13 years in Recruitment, I've seen the pendulum swing from a Candidate-driven market to what we're now experiencing—an Employer's market. If you're a Job Seeker what does this mean? Candidate Driven vs. Employer's Market In a Candidate-driven market, Job seekers had more control. ✅ Quicker decisions ✅ Competitive salaries ✅ There were more Jobs ✅ Job seekers held the cards The Current Reality: An Employer's Market Fast forward to April 2024, and the landscape has shifted. It's now an employer's market: ❌ Longer hiring processes ❌ More conservative with offers ❌ Employers have the advantage ❌ Employers are now more selective ❌ More Candidates than there are jobs ❌ Candidate experience is at its lowest ❌ Increased time to hire (slow hiring decisions) What Can You Do? 👔 Learn New Skills: Investing in upskilling and expanding your skill set can make you a more attractive candidate. Employers are seeking individuals who can adapt to evolving roles and industries. 👔 Networking Matters: Leverage your network. Personal connections and referrals can help you stand out in a crowded field. 👔 Patience is Key: Understand that the job search process may take longer than in the past. Don't be discouraged by rejection; use it as an opportunity to learn and improve. 👔 Negotiate Wisely: Be prepared for salary negotiations. Research industry standards and the cost of living in your desired location to make informed decisions. 👔 Company Culture Matters: While it's an employer's market, you still have a choice. Seek employers who align with your values and offer a positive work environment. 👔 Keep Learning: Embrace a growth mindset. Continuous learning and adaptability are highly valued by employers looking for resilient, forward-thinking candidates. While the current job market may pose challenges, it also presents opportunities for those who adapt and persevere. Stay proactive, stay informed, and remember that your skills and experience are assets that will always be in demand. Best of luck to all those Job Searching this week! #JobMarket #CareerAdvice #EmploymentTrends #JobSeekers

Finding the right job doesn't always happen overnight, but it certainly happens quicker than you might think. 🚀 Recent data shows that 79% of people who were laid off found new employment within just three months. This high rate of talent reabsorption speaks volumes about the job market's resilience. We've noticed that job seekers aren't settling for just any position. They're leveraging their skills and standing firm on fair compensation, choosing to wait for roles that truly align with their career goals. 🏆 Trust in your abilities, stay patient, and the right opportunity will come your way. 💼 https://hubs.la/Q02FgJFn0 #MotionRecruitment #JobSearch #CareerGrowth #Recruitment #TalentAcquisition #JobMarket #CareerAdvice #ITStaffing
